agreed, however.. i bet if you asked any band member if "they wished they could write songs like pink floyd" they would respectfully say YES...

    they are fans too.

Wrigley's mother blew my mind, music, lighting, etc. and I turned to my wife and said, "why can't Pearl Jam write songs like that?"

Do you mean write similar songs, or have the same writing process? Because over time, they wrote their songs in isolation from each other and eventually they all hated each other and were real a-holes.

They killed Mother at Wrigley.... But it wasn't the best thing they played that night. Still, I was impressed. Huge improvement from when they did it on Fallon.
I like Pink Floyd. They were the first concert I ever went to in fact, and it was a really big deal for me. But I like Pearl Jam's style a lot more. Pink Floyd's awesome, but a little too trippy for me since I stopped doing acid. :P

Pink Floyd gets the fast forward treatment on my ipod more than any other band...Pearl Jam OWNS my ipod.

Therefore, I think it's time to whittle my Pink Floyd collection down a bit, as a lot of their stuff is just weird rubbish.
19 Pearl Jam shows and still searching for Deep!

everybody wants the most they can possibly get

I always got a Pink Floyd vibe from Nothing As it Seems. I feel this even more so since hearing Jeff's demo on PJ20. But to the larger point, I like Pink Floyd. They're great. However if PJ just wrote songs like them, they wouldn't be PJ.

 Exactly. After a fistful of acid, Pink Floyd becomes the greatest band on the planet.
