Anyone find a decent price on a hotel in center city area in Philly? Everything seems super expensive...

Loews Hotels is usually reasonable. Otherwise the Embassy Suites is always good.

There is also a Double Tree.

Thanks but the loews and doubletree were booked and embassy is $360/night..
Hoping for something cheaper than that
Anyone know of any group rates?

I was just looking at Philly hotels too hoping to get something close to the venue, and wasn't seeing too much that was either A. Reasonalbe or B. not a total pice of crap. Can anyone from Philly chime in on the area or where would be good to look? public transport to the venue from area hotels? etc?

I'm flying in solo and was hoping to just walk to the venue, but that's not looking realistic from what I'm seeing on the maps.

There is a Holiday Inn Express right by the venue, but it isn't Center City. I've only been to the lobby and they have a Stub Hub in it. It is nice though. Let me check out with a friend, she works at the Loews. BRB

I had the same problem....I'm a female going solo too so I was worried about staying somewhere sketchy or out of the way. I feel like closer to city center is the best option as there are tons of other hotels around, restaurants, and just more to do. I did find a lot of places pricey but I have booked at Alexander Inn which was very reasonable. Trip advisor had good reviews too: http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Hotel_Review- ... vania.html

No idea how it will be but I'd rather stay central...I would think there would be plenty of fans willing to share a cab to the venue... myself included :)

I'd still love to hear from a Philly native...my room is totally cancellable if it's not a good choice!

Thanks Ipeddle, I booked a room there as well. That is by far the best price I've seen and it looks like a nice little inn - awesome find! I'm sure it will book up fast now...

Try hotwire.com. I found my hotel through that website as well.

a more affordable option is across the river in South Jersey. Tons of places in Mount Laurel, Voorhees, and Cherry Hill where you can just shoot across the bridge later and save a ton of cash

center city is crazy easy to stay in and still get to the show. there is the subway that will take you direct from 4 or 5 stops in center city and drops you off right outside the stadium.. super easy and cheap ($2 each way). but they use stupid token system and lines are super long AFTER the show so make sure you get tokens on your way down.

loews is ok. sofitel is nicer. so is hotel palomar. both in center city.

this hotel is in the gayborhood section of Center City (therefore clean and nice) . I know a few people who have stayed there before and said it was decent. The area is fine and easy to get to the venue from there.
