This is the only prediction for 2014 which I will take for granted http://lunaf.com/english/moon-phases/lu ... ndar-2014/

when it comes to Pearl Jam just way too hard to predict anything. I certainly hope for the following... Side projects are kept to a minimum. They keep touring. Wait less time to release another album. Hook up with Robert Plant like they did in 2005 and play a show in the Glendale/Pasadena area near Los Angeles.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

I found the Ed/Stone conversation funny, but not at all accurate (not that it was meant to be). I think Ed, as an artist in general, is constantly creating, even if it's just in his head.

C'mon people, he has a family too, and he has the luxury of spending a great deal of time with them if he wants, but I don't think music, PJ or solo, is ever far from his mind.

and I think we will see more US dates next year, as well as Europe, and probably NZ/Australia

The US legs in October/November WILL NOT be the only promotion in the US for the new record, that I can guarantee

I'm sorry but I disagree here.

In 2009, pj put out backspacer and did a 3 week leg 1 of their tour.

They waited until spring 2010 to do leg 2. Each leg was about 3 weeks.

This time we have two legs back to back, each being about 3 weeks.

To think the US will get another string of shows like we just had announced, will only lead to heart ache. It's very likely this is it, maybe a few festivals next year. Don't expect a tour of all the spots they just skipped. They were skipped for a reason!

2014 I see much like 2010/ 2009. US tour first. Followed by Australia/New Zeland dates. Followed by a summer tour of hand picked Europe countries (like last year) a few will be festivals and then they fill in the gaps around that w shows.

After the 2010 summer Europe tour.. There was nothing until 2011 fall. Even then it was a small, Canada and South American tour. They didn't even tour the states in promotion of PJ20. If you think they will now your crazy.

That's why I'm doing 6 (maybe 7) shows this year. If they continue to same path as backspacer and touring etc, they won't have another full us tour like this until 2017.

The last tour started (US) September 21, 2009. That is 4 years and around 1 month since the last tour of the states ended and the new one begins.

4 years and a month from October 2013 is November 2017.

Better get these shows in now!

Pearl jam didn't tour certain states in the south for a reason...Now they are playing a lot of cities in the south.....That haven't got a show in a long time....Dallas, OKC, Phoneix etc.....I still beleive pearl jam will do another leg next year in the usa.....Midwest/mideast tour.......Maybe they just couldn't work it in this year.....I could be wrong...But, I have a good feeling they will tour again next year in the usa...I went to three shows on the midwest tour for backspacer....Kansas City and St Louis was kickass...
  • KingJeremyDKingJeremyD Posts: 2,313
Pearl Jam has pretty much done somewhat of a midwest tour every since yield tour....Besides the avacodo tour..So, I wouldn't expect them to skip the midwest on this tour for the new album...

Question. If they do Europe somewhere between June - August 2014 I could probably manage to get to a couple shows at least. I've never been to Europe and would love to go. Being an American, I only speak English (and some would argue that even that is questionable at best  ) so my question, is how do you guys get by in these countries where you don't speak the language?
its time to learn Greekglish then ;)

 I've lived around your peoples long enough to know how to communicate in Greekglish!
    Also Spanglish.
I guess I'll do fine then. I didn't know that English was commonly known in non-UK countries in Europe. Score!

English is well spoken in most parts of Europe and particular the big cities where PJ will play you'll get by with direction etc. You'll be surprised how easy it is really. You could use the opportunity to learn a few phrases and try them out too ;)

Key phrases to learn for each country:
    Donde esta el baño?
    Please.
    Thank you.
Large coffee light & sweet. (Or milk & sugar)

If I were in a world famous touring band I would live in perpetual summer. Maybe that's what they're going for? Ending the tour near home in Dec, to be home for the holidays blah blah family, then shooting over to the southern hemisphere to show Oceania some love? Then back up north to Europe for festival season!

INT. LUXERY HOME IN SEATTLE ( EDDIES PLACE ) - DAY
EDDIE VEDDER (50) is sitting at home with GLEN HANSERD (40) sharing a couple of beers. The faint sound of NEIL YOUNGS voice can be heard from Eddies iphone being hooked up to a pair of speakers. You can tell from Glens face he would have wanted to listen to something from Neil Youngs golden era (60-70s + Harvest Moon) but you can tell the choice of songs are from Are You Passionate and forward.

Eddie is slowly strumming on Luke-the-Uke while Glen is talking about all the fun things they should do together the following summer; surfing, catching a Twilight-marathon and maybe do another solo tour together. They seem to be having a swell time.

Eddies iphone rings. He stares at the phone with a troublesome look. After a few moments he picks the phone up. Neil Youngs shaky voice and uninspiring post-Broken-Arrow-lyrics are cut off.

    STONE (OS)
    Yo... Ed...eh... where are you?

    EDDIE
    Who's this?

    STONE (OS)
    ...it's Stone... Stone... Gossard...

    EDDIE
Oh, right. Right. Didn't recognize the voice.

    STONE (OS)
But, dude, you have my number saved... in your phone..?

    EDDIE
Eh... yeah... no... Haven't gotten around to it yet... been playing a lot of Angry Birds... and you know... rehearsing some of my solo stuff like Thumbing my way, Parting Ways and Sometimes...

    An awkward pause.

    STONE (OS)
    Those are not solo songs...

    EDDIE
I'm pretty sure they are, man...

    STONE (OS)
    No...

    EDDIE
Then.. why... would I only play them solo smart-ass?

    Another awkward pause.

    STONE (OS)
Yeah... well... anyways... we're waiting here on you, where are you dude?

    EDDIE
    I'm home...

    STONE (OS)
But... what... why? We need the lyrics man...

    EDDIE
    Lyrics..?

    STONE (OS)
To the songs. To the new album? You were suppose to be here by now... recording your vocals...

    EDDIE
Oh...yeah... eh... for the Pearl... Pearl... the Pearl album... right, right...

    STONE (OS)
    It's Pearl Jam.

    EDDIE
    Right yeah... eh...

    STONE (OS)
We've all been working on the songs for over a month here man... all we've asked for you the last couple of albums is to come in with the punk-fillers and the lyrics man... Even Boom is here... got in from Hawaii yesterday... real giddy... So are you on your way?

    EDDIE
Eh... yeah.... what was the name again?

    STONE (OS)
It's Pearl Jam... the band name... is... Pearl Jam...

This actually depressed me a little lol....

The truth hearts, doesn't it? ;)

Verona would be cool. Milan sucks, the venue they would probably play there is awful.

Would love to go back to Dublin!
