How much do you think PJ made from Wrigley?

Let me start by saying whatever they made was well earned. They probably deserve even more than what they will take home. It was an amazing weekend I will never forget. But between tickets, merch, and any concession they got a chunk of, that's several million dollars. Do you think each of the five guys could walk away with around 200K after all the expenses? Not that I care, just curious as to what they pulled in for such a historic night.

  • I heard a rumor they paid a very hefty fine for playing until 2am. I have no clue how much they made. It doesn't matter really. They are all worth between $75-$100mm.

The way the band handled it was weird. I mean, I've been to plenty of concerts but never have I seen official merch stands outside the venue days before the concert. I understand people want it and that they're the ones standing in line to buy it but still. It seemed to me that too many people were more focused on buying a shirt and poster than going in to listen to PJ. Anyways, it was fucked up. It was planned to have all those merch booths set up in advance and they made a lot of money off it. Nothing wrong with that, I personally don't like that though.

The band did themselves a favor dude. If they just sold the shit the day of the show, people would wait in line, get what they want and leave. Once they ran out, it would be over. No restocking bullshit. That's how it is at every single other concert.

  • Not that this really helps, but I remember someone posting an article in the fall that the band made $2 million from MIA.

I'm not sure if that means they made more or less for Wrigley. I'm also not sure if that $2M is what the band got or if that is like before they pay their crew. But that was honestly the first time I ever heard a definitive number for what they made on any show.

  • I think all they did that weekend was with the best of intentions. I don't think anyone could have predicted the merch demand. It was a completely unique show for a band with a huge loyal fan base. The lines were crazy so I chose to not stand in them. No big deal. I had a ticket to the show which was all I needed. Even the setlist shirts were for the fans not a money grab. I'm just glad that after 20+ years they can still sell tickets and merch like that. Few band can and most of those are on nostalgia tours.

after taxes, every band member clears about 2 dollars per guest.. just a stab in the dark..

I agree...that word has NO place on this board. People ask for more merch, stand in line for said merch, and then the band gets blamed for providing what most fans ask for on this board. Wow...and who cares if they made $100 or a freakin' enormous amount after the fine for curfew. Loved the show despite the issues and think they deserve whatever they made! That's why we keep seeing them and loving them. Just saying, how many other bands would have continued after that delay? Not many, I'm sure...but glad I was there!!! One for the books, for sure!

    Enough said...

Your point about '...how many other bands...?' is exactly laser precise. I am a critic of heavy merch, but I realize and thank my lucky stars that these guys are one of the only bands that would have come back out. Good post.

Wait...it's now OK to speculate on the income of the band?

Kinda fucked up and just a bit intrusive.

Plus, would it have an effect on how much you dig the music itself?

Seen it all, not at fucking all.

...to a certain extent, yes it would. When I drop $40 +ship on my PJ dog collar I want to know where it's going.

Well considering they raped everyone with their 3 day merch sales, with 4-5 hour lines, I'd say they walked away with a shitload of cash. I went, stood in line and enjoyed myself so I shouldn't complain. But I think you're kind of crossing the line by saying they deserved more $$. I mean come on, I bet they made as much money off of merch as they did ticket sales.
The way the band handled it was weird. I mean, I've been to plenty of concerts but never have I seen official merch stands outside the venue days before the concert. Seriously... I could care less about who made what. I believe the boys deserve every FRICKIN penny!!! Even though I'm pretty sure Ed got an upgrade on his season ticket package. :corn: But what really pisses me off is YOU waited in line all that time and didn't even get ME some socks or a sticker? :o What a selfish dbag.. And I thought we were friends...

the most crazy here,is some people react like someone took the money from their pocket...

like they have to pay the band for playing...

i wonder if some of you was rock stars if you ever gonna care about your fans or you would go with your limo to buy cigaretes and put your bodyguards to push away your fans..and ask thousands of dollars just to shake fans hand..
