VATICAN CITY—Following Pope Francis’ tolerant remarks Sunday about homosexuals and the Catholic Church, Vatican officials reportedly went into crisis mode, announcing that the Pope’s thoughtful message of understanding was clearly taken out of context. “It is not the official stance of the Pope or the Catholic Church that all people of good will who seek the Lord, especially gay people, should be accepted by Christ,” a visibly nervous Vatican spokesman told reporters, adding that the Holy Father was clearly tired after his long trip to Brazil and never meant for his comments to sound caring or realistic. “Homosexuality is a disorder. And this in no way means that, going forward, the Catholic Church will be an open-minded, more sensible organization. I assure you we are just as prejudiced and backward today as we were yesterday. Thank you.” According to an anonymous source close to the Vatican, the Pope is currently being yelled at by Church officials, who are telling him, “You don’t just go off script like that. Who the fuck do you think you are?”

Well no.... about that many are pedophiles.
Not nearly as many as you might think are gay.
I don't want to jump on you but these are both assumptions. I am not even close to a fan of the church (any church/religion) but i also suspect that many of the people involved in the church are actually not the devil.0 -

can't god evolve his postions from the books written a couple of thousand years ago, or is he bound to what is written? i mean he IS god, so can't he adapt and evolve like everyone else??
I used to have a theory somewhere that if God is omnipotent (in the Christian sense: all-powerful, all-seeing, without equal etc), then he/she must also be beyond comparison and therefore indescribable, as our language is, by nature, limiting and finite in it's application. And if God is indescribable, then our words about him/her are meaningless. I played around with this as a way to attack religion when it's used as a weapon against others.
I'm not sure if the theory makes any sense, but I used to kick it around a lot. Then I got bored with it.1998-06-30 Minneapolis

Actually, I get what you're saying and tend to agree (and I'm religious).
I particularly think it's true when people try to rationalize why God doesn't exist or make sense. I always wonder why, if there really was an Omnipotent, Omniscient God, why would anyone think it logical to disprove God's existence utilizing our extremely limited human knowledge, experience or logic.
It would be like getting a millisecond view of a scenario and then saying exactly what was happening. You couldn't have any real confidence as to your own theory. The only people we should try to get even with...

god is evolution, god is all positions far & wide, inside out, overlapped & overwhelming
god would be those thousands of years you asked about with the writings of some books. god is bound to only self
