THE NEW SYSTEM TO GET TIX SUCKS BIG TIME

Ten Club member of many years (+18), this time FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, I only got tickets to one show (horrible seats behind the stage)...
The idea that being a 10C member only gets you a CHANCE to win a lottery to buy a ticket is so lame that I cannot even describe it.
And then we are in the holy hands of ticketmaster, way to go guys!
I am not renewing my 10C membership, this is a JOKE
Very disappointed,
José (with 80 shows on his back, I'll get to 81 and that's it)

Question for you: How many of those 80 shows did you have great Ten Club seats?0 -
I agree with what you said. I wish I could give you a hug. Don't give up on them. I still pray that they will sometime do a tour for 10c members only.0

I understand being mad, but you did get 80 awesome seats over the years from the 10C. I wouldn't be so pissed off at the 10C like they are a joke or something.0 -

This isn't your point, I know, but the setup for London saw that the seats behind the stage were very good. I'm sure it will be the same. Cheer up a little...thousands of ppl got shut out entirely.0 -

Got crappy tix, to only ONE show, really pissed
The problem is that now the 10C doesn't take care of all tickets, just the small portion that goes to the lottery, and the rest end up with Ticketmaster, huge irony...

sure, I am the one w/o a clue...
remember those days when you couldn't get tickets unless you bought them through the 10C?
now if I want good tickets I can pay a lot of extra cash on stubhub or something and I am done... things have changed a lot, and not for the best...
look at this, scalping GA tix for NY, only 2500 each ticket...

why weren't those tickets part of the lottery or for the fans?Make records, not war...0 -
I have to agree that the new ticketing sucks...but it sucks everywhere.
Tickets.com employs a "lounge" where you have to wait for 30 seconds and then get randomly selected as next in line.
The problem is that there is a new paradigm that is trying to create "fairness". But it really equates to getting a chance at something without having to work for it.
There was a time when you had to go and wait in line at the local record store to get a wrist band before you waited in line to get tickets. We would wait outside for hours and even overnight, because it was something that we really, really wanted.
If you didn't have enough desire to put out the effort, then you had to deal with whatever tickets were left over.
Even with the internet, you still had to be in front of your computer, at the right time, and had to keep clicking refresh over and over again to try and secure a spot.
If you were at a show, it was because you really wanted to be there and you were excited and pumped to be watching your favorite band. I think that is what the bands want!!
The 10C setup is the worst, because it basically says, "for the next week, take your time and throw your name in to try and get some of the best tickets at the show. Don't put out any effort. And we'll give you just as much of a chance as anyone else." But a lot of those people would not have stayed home at 10:00am on a Friday to be in front of their computers.
I have so much disappointment and I don't think I've conveyed it well enough. It just sucks.0 -

Dmitri, is right. I thought the new lottery system was flawed because I didn't get tickets to Wrigley but after watching and asking around the forum, I was able to get Field S tickets from a fellow member for face value (tickets were going for 900+ on Stubhub etc). I put in for three shows on the new tour and got everything I wanted (Brooklyn 1 reserved, San Diego GA, and LA 1 GA. Also, thru the forum, I was able to secure Brooklyn 2 (another member and I going to each other ticket). Hang in there, it was the first tour with this system. I'm pretty sure you will be able to find tickets for every show you want thru people in the forum.0

Supply and demand... sorry for your loss but it has always been the chance to buy a ticket... even when there was F5 cluster fuck on this web site... it was always the chance to buy... I definitely got shut out with the previous system a few times... but asking around for face value tickets or going to ticketmaster for face value tickets works just as well.0

I'm not a fan of the new lottery system either and not because I didn't get tickets, I just think it's not fair if you pay a membership to access tickets pre-sale (we might as well just enter our names on a sheet and be in with a chance to be drawn, without having to pay annual membership) and I don't know what system is in use for this lottery in terms of software used to randomly pick members. Lastly, If the new lottery system was put in place to avoid server crashes during pre-sale, they should change the servers in the first place, not the system.
I would also change the 2 tickets per 10C member rule to only 1 10C ticket per member and here's why: twice the number of genuine 10C members would be in with a chance to win the lottery instead of ticket spares being given to other people, and yes I know many spares are going to 10C members who weren't drawn in the lottery in the first place but at the same time many spares are just going to non members. If the floor of a venue is booked for 10C members only, I would like to see only 10C members on that floor and not friends of friends who are just there because they were sold or given the spare, if you know what I mean.
Having said all that, I am still a 10C member, I know and love many of you 10C members and I will always see you at gigs, 10C floor or general sale!Verona '00 | Dublin '06 | Barcelona '06 | London '07 | Copenhagen '07 | Berlin '09 | Dublin '10 | Belfast '10 | Berlin '10 | Toronto1 '11 | Toronto2 '11 | Amsterdam1 '12 | Stockholm '12 | Oslo '12 | Copenhagen '12 | Brooklyn1 '13 | Brooklyn2 '13 | Amsterdam1 '14 | Amsterdam2 '14 | Vienna '14 | Berlin '140 -

You are missing the point... (and I am being polite)
If you change the rules you have to accept when the system doesn't work, and this new system doesn't give the fairness that PJ always advocated for their fans. That simple.
The number of scalped tickets now goes through the roof because the 10C doesn't want to deal with selling all the tickets as it did before. They went the Soundgarden way that, IMHO, SUCKS BIG TIME
And yes, there were GA tickets sold yesterday during the general public sale, a few of my friends got them before the complete SNAFU with ticketmaster...
The lottery as the only option is a poor option for us. I prefer the 10C presale hands down.
So, thanks 10C for leaving us in the hands of our friend ticketmaster, we missed them...Make records, not war...0 -

Part of the greatness is to accept when a change doesn't do what you stood for all these years.

i know very well beign active memebr here what system is fair and what system help cheaters, scalpers etc..
lottery as system worked perfect
no crash site,no wait hours to see if u score,no have it in my card and lost,no put my cc and didnty went through,no refresh for hours,no cheating with links that put you directly to check out page etc..
and..
there was no GA tic sold yesterday..
you cant get into GA box with out 10c wristbands..
only 10c has wristband and GA tix..everything else is fake and not legit..
no 10c wristband,no GA section,NO MATTER WHAT YOUR TICKET SAYS..
if 10c sold 1000 GA tic, will have ONLY 1000 wristbands..
end of story with this bullshit about GA sold yesterday
and this my friends got them and blah blah blah,i heard it before.."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

The real problem is the band does not play enough shows in the markets that need them and they don't come around enough for the demand to be realistic. Take the northeast, Brooklyn for example. Back in the day when they did the big tours, the demand was insane. Now your doing two shows in Brooklyn at a smaller venue because msg is under construction, the demand is simply out of control in certain parts of the country. Obviously if you can Travel, pick a show in Bumblefuck, Oklahoma and have a good time.
IF anything, the lottery should give your more balls for your seniority. Because that would make it fair. A person with a membership from 98 like myself should not have the same amount of chances as someone who joined in 2013. The lottery now really makes have a ten club memberships obsolete. There is no need now to hold on to it, Just join when needed."Only curfews can keep us down"0 -

Question, so 10c members wouldn't be able to sit with who they want, even if they both have memberships, because they will be randomly seated based on their numbers? As a married person whose spouse enjoys Pearl Jam also, I would not like this idea. Or are you just suggesting this for GA?2013 Wrigley, Pittsburgh, Buffalo
