I guess its pretty close to Barclays, City centre, JFK...
Looks nice, might be a little more than what you need if you're just going to be there the two nights of the concert. Looking at that map, Barclays is right at the top on Atlantic Avenue and I think 6th Avenue.
Actually I booked the apartment in Astoria Queens, 33rd street:)))
thank you all for advises

32-52 33street between broadway 34th ave. Maybe we will be neighbours;)))
Hehe I don't live too far from there, but I don't actually live in Astoria. I used to practically live at a cafe that used to be on that corner. Here's some immediate neighborhood advice:
Sushi: Junko Sushi, right on the corner of Bway & 33rd St on the first floor. Upstairs is a Yoga place. That used to be my home away from home. The sushi from here is really good, they also have a lot of non-sushi foods. I like the Avocado rolls and Chilean Sea Bass Spring Rolls.
Froyo: a little bit down the block there is a place called Vanilla Sky. It is a self-serve frozen yogurt shop, they also make smoothies and serve coffee. The coffee is ok, not great, not awful. They have the best frozen yogurt I have ever had in my life. In fact, if you go, and they have the coffee flavor on tap, send me a message !!! they change up the flavors every so often.
On the next block there is a wine shop. I dunno what it is called or if it is any good, but people generally like wine so i thought i'd mention it.
There's a wine BAR called Winegasm just off Broadway (on the other side of the street) that friends of mine have been to and loved. It's a little bit further down at 37th street.
Warning: do not get pizza from Boston Pizza. That place has a reputation of being the worst pizza in Astoria
Going back in the other direction, on the corner across from the sushi place is a Greek cafe called Omonia. You're staying in Astoria, so go have a frappe. This is the place that made the cake for the My Big Fat Greek Wedding movie. Or something like that.
Toward the other end of the block, closer to 32nd st, there's Break. It is a pool hall (billiards) with a full bar, bar food menu, lots of picnic-table style seating in front of a row of huge TVs that show whatever game may be on (there's TVs at the bar too) and there's also a bunch of games like air hockey, foosball, basketball, shoot-y games, etc. Oh and Ping Pong. During the week they have free pool usually until 8 or 9 as long as you buy drinks and/or food. There's chalkboard outside that will usually specify. The music here usually doesn't suck. If you do go on weekend evenings, there's a guy at the door checking IDs, but that's only like after 8 or 9pm on fri & sat. AND he's super nice.
On the other side of Bway there's a relatively new Bagel place whose name escapes me. I think it's called Knosh or Bagel Knosh... something along those lines. Good bagels. Meh coffee.
On the corner next to Break there's Euro Delights. The service is terrible, so I haven't been there in a couple years. But they used to make really good crepes. That one is up to you.
Street Meat late at night from the guy across fro Gilbey's in front of Capital One is yummy. I prefer the chicken but he also has beef, maybe lamb or pork. You can get it in a pita (ask for 'sandwich') or on the stick, with a chunk of bread. You can do Lemon & salt (my fave), bbq, hot sauce, tzatziki. Your choice.
You're in Astoria, so get Greek Food. On Bway between 32nd & 31st street Bahari, this place is sooooo awesome. I would suggest going for lunch, early, so that you can benefit from the lunch menu prices & the best part... the lima beans. I don't like lima beans, but whatever the hell they do to these make them the most delicious thing ever. Just ask for it as a side, I don't think it's on the menu. They run out of it, which is why I suggest going early.
On the other side of the train station (aka 31st street) there's a Colombian bakery on the corner. Get your coffee from this place, it's really your best choice. I mean there's a Starbucks & a Dunkin Donuts both on Bway a few blocks apart but for REAL coffee go here. Also, empanadas! I like the beef ones. I dunno what this place is called but it's impossible to miss.
Across Broadway, Sanford's. Upscale diner! The Peasant salad is my favorite. Which is a little silly cuz it's just lettuce feta and dressing. But seriously, good burgers, decent prices, yet kinda classy. I really like this place. 24/7.
My FINAL suggestion (but seriously, I could keep going so if you got any questions feel free to PM me) is cross bway, and go up to 31st Ave (it's the next block) walk down to 34th street and on the corner you will see Bareburger. This place isn't cheap, but they serve Ostrich Burgers and the best Raspberry Milkshakes that have ever existed. Oh, and the fried pickles. It's all organic and whatever. But the main point here, Ostrich Burger.
Hahahha....wooow what a travel adviser;))) thanks a lot....i will definetly try all what you are mentioning. Looks like there are a lot of greeks around...maybe i meet some relatives from famous Dimitris, hahahah...i guess you all know the guy, or at least heard of;))
But seriously, i would really like to meet some of you guys while in town. Maybe we can organise some meet up in some nice rock bar or smth???
We will be there october 12th till october 14th, then we go to worcester for 2 days, and back to NY for the brooklyn shows!!!
What do ya say? It will be atleast 2 of us, but probably 3 other girls from Slovenia;))
