PHONY SCANDALS ??

President Obama has called all the scandals "Phony". How can he say that? Just two months ago he said he was outraged at the IRS targeting of conservative groups. He also has said things that confirmed Benghazi and the AP

How can he come out and say all these scandals are phonY? Isnt that the opposite of leading? What if they are half true or true? Wouldnt that make our president's remarks terrible in many ways?

If you were the father or mother of one of the service members killed in Benghazi, how would you feel when you heard that?

I dont know how he speaks with a straight face anymore

Maybe Wikileaks is right ....he is a wolf in sheeps clothing

becasue they are not scandles.. they are stuff that happens in a very large complex world. The implication that they are cover ups of some horrible wrong doing is phony.

Then why did the IRS come out and admit that they acted improperly? Regardless of the ideology, subjecting any groups to a different set of standards by keywords is entirely inappropriate. If there were groups that shouldn't be eligible for a tax-exempt status, isn't that the entire point of a basic application process?

Those that believe Obama and agree that the IRS did not target 100% of the Tea Party groups need to do some research.
does anyone have a list of the Democratic groups that were flagged? The ones I saw had names that sounded like conservatives.....I believe that is the only reason they had been flagged....then promptly given tax exempt status.....

Absolutely phony. The agency had like 700 requests come in and a handful of people to process them. To sort out political from non political applications they instructed the clerks to sort them by identifiable titles.

Yes 100% of the Tea Party groups were scrutinized....so were 100% of every other application type.

It's phony outrage...just like Benghazi

Have you also noticed the outrage over Obamacare? And how the GOP plan is very very similar to Obamacare? Remember that Obamacare is the idea of the Heritage Group? A conservative group?

USA Today reported that two IRS employees have been placed on administrative leave over the scandal.


IRS is still under scrutiny for admitting last month that some of its agents had specifically targeted conservative groups for additional review during 2010 and 2012. Republicans and Democrats have blasted those revelations, with President Barack Obama promising "no tolerance" for such breaches of trust.


IRS managed to spend $50 million taxpayer money between 2010 and 2012 – including more than $4 million on one conference in Anaheim, California in 2010, which reportedly featured lavish presidential suites, video skits and gifts for IRS employees.


When I came to IRS, part of my job was to hold people accountable," said acting commissioner Danny Werfel. "There was clearly inappropriate behavior involved in this situation, and immediate action is needed."

Is there another definition of scandal.....Could it be scandal does not mean scandal anymore? Is this another word that is being redefined?

The IRS was just doing its job.

Surely you realize that the IRS is a toxic topic for the tea party/right. Of course someone had to pay for these manufactured wrongs and leaders on both the left and right are going to speak out about it and not defend the IRS. It's an agency that few people understand. The agency gets blamed for tax laws that it has absolutely nothing to do with....that's Congress' job.

Understandable to have the first one flagged if Tea Party was new to them....but what about all the others?

A retiring IRS lawyer implicates the IRS chief counsel's office, headed by an Obama appointee, as well as the head of the IRS' exempt organizations office. The targeting included a Tea Party Senate candidate.
In Thursday's hearing before the House Oversight Committee, 72-year-old retiring IRS lawyer Carter Hull implicated the IRS chief counsel's office headed by William J. Wilkins, who attended at least nine White House meetings, and Lois Lerner, head of the exempt-organizations office, in the IRS scandal.
In so doing, he made clear the targeting of Tea Party groups started in Washington and was directed from Washington.

Apparently not only Tea Party groups were targeted but actual candidates as well. On March 9, 2010, the day Tea Party candidate Christine O'Donnell revealed her plan to run for Vice President Joe Biden's former Delaware Senate seat , an IRS tax lien was placed on a house purported to be hers, an action that was quickly publicized by those who did not wish her well.
Earlier this year, Dennis Martel, special agent with the Department of Treasury in Baltimore, left a message on O'Donnell's cell phone telling her that an official in Delaware state government had improperly accessed her records on that very same day. The problem was that the house was not hers in the first place and the IRS eventually blamed the lien on a computer glitch and withdrew it.
