I'm 34 and somewhat of a new fan. I've always owned Ten and had it in the mix, but didn't really pay attention to a lot of PJ's other albums until the past few years. In that time I've joined the 10C, seen them in London, and will catch at least one show this fall. That being said, I know my opinion as a newbie may not carry as much weight as some of the longtime, hardcore fans' might. Ten is not only my favorite Pearl Jam album, but is definitely in my overall top five across the board. As their first release, I would be hardpressed to find a way it could have been improved.0

I actually prefer the remix Ten. Sounds rawer, rougher.
I think if ten was released today it would be heralded as their best but we've heard these songs so many times now. No matter what, it changed my life.Happy up here in my tree0 -

it's not in mine either. I love a lot of those songs live, but hardly ever listen to the record. and I probably lack the emotional attachment to it that some people have because it got them into the band...it was released long before I ever started listening to music.
mine is:
binaural
no code
yield
riot act

Wow no love for Backspacer around here0

First time poster here so... hey
I just wanted to say that Ten has never appealed to me all that much... and I don't know why.
In fact, when I first "discovered" Pearl Jam and was told their best album was Ten, I did not get the hype. Sure it had good songs on it, but I think since everyone wet their Pants over Jeremy it got kind of overrated.
Once I heard albums like No Code I really started digging Pearl Jam. I think that album is the epitome of their catalog so far. As far as my list goes, here it is :
1st tier :
1. No Code
2. Yield
3. VS.
2nd tier:
4. Vitalogy
5. Pearl jam
6. Riot Act
7. Binaural
8. Ten

So Ten falls in top 5 for me, just barely. I enjoy the Vs songs live but I am not a fan of Dave's drumming on the album.2008: Bonnaroo
2010: Bristow
2012: Atlanta
2013: Charlottesville, Charlotte
2014: Cincinnati
2016: Greenville, Hampton, Raleigh (cancelled), Columbia, Lexington

If you're talking about TOP albums... it's CRIMINAL not to put Ten at the top. I put Ten above every other album in the history of music.
If you're talking about what you're CURRENTLY liking or listening to, then I could see Ten being toward the bottom as most of the songs you've heard a million times, they get played at almost every show, and they need a break. In fact, I could go the next 10 years without hearing Alive, Even Flow, Porch, Once, or Jeremy and it wouldn't bother me a bit.0 -
I don't like to pick my middle 8, but if someone forced me to, Ten would not make my top 5, but they're all so close it really makes no difference. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0

Funny, most people when I say I like Pearl Jam tend to then harp on about what a great album Ten was but haven't really heard much beyond that, and that makes me a bit sad.
Bands' first albums rarely make my favourites lists, It's unlikely that a band with the talent and potential of Pearl Jam would have made their best album on the first or second attempt. Ten would be some way down the list for me.0
