what say you?
What are you running from?
Taking pills to get along
Creating walls to call your own
So no one catches you?
Drifting off and doing all the things...
That we... all... do

i just think they've WAY overplayed it on this tour. sometimes 4-5 shows in a row.

No they shouldn't. Anyway the band will decide when it's time to retire it. When they don't get the crowd going with it, then they might think about it. I hope they play it on all the shows I'm going to this year. :)

If they retire "YL" how else will people know to leave and head to their cars to avoid the rush?

  • i say YES!!!!!!!!! how about they play it on nights they feel "special" as a treat or somthing? but anyway, they have closed with this over 50% of the time ive seen them. so i could deal without it so much on the next few tours.

    but whatever.

OH yeah, retire corduroy too while were at it :)
    peace, love.

i've never been a big fan of this song... actually, i take that back. i used to LOVE it, but i have heard it so many times that it's lost a bit of its luster. however, the crowd response is always huge when mike hits the opening notes and so i think it's still a good closer. i'd rather see the whole closing repertoire get changed up: RITFW, Baba, YL, etc... but at the end of the day, I still enjoy each one every time they're played.

I think "All Those Yesterdays" or "Parting Ways" would be an awesome closer

I hope they finish every concert from now on with it, doesn't bother me a bit, as long as Mr McCready is happy, lol

they should keep playing it but retire it as a closer. a show should end rocking out to like Baba or Rocking in the free world. YLB saps the energy out of the crowd

No doubt you have never seen All Those Yesterdays live..... It had zero energy in Detroit 98.... It must be a hard song for Stone to pull off and have it sound good, hence why they Soundchecked it for the Gorge but chose not play it.

Ledbetter is of course the perfect closer.... I am confused why people complain about it, the other option is to get to hear no song as the band would end with the closing rocker (RITFW,Baba, Alive,Porch etc..etc..)

I think at this point it would be too weird to throw it in just anywhere and it doesn't have enough energy to really rock in the middle of a show, but it could certainly fill a spot towards the end of a set, or maybe in the middle of a slow encore.

Or it would be pretty sweet to see it be played as part of an accoustic opener a la Mansfield III '03.
