With the Ames sale being at 9am central time, and the show getting over at 2:15am who was up to scoop a variant? I'm not ISO of anything at this time, just curious who is the early bird who got the worm.

Also, bad timing on Ames if you ask me, but oh well

I just found out about it now. I didn't get an Ames at all. Got one Emek and two Monk Ones.

Considering I got home at 4am I missed this after the show. Got shut out of every poster since I wasn't waiting 5 hours.

    I think I did...

Got up at 5 to 10 eastern... logged in and began refreshing. Their server was pretty taxed - imagine MSG '08 or '10 ten club ticket sales taxed. I got error message after error message. I got as far as a paypal submission... but kept getting "cart empty" or server too busy. So, I gave up, assumed I didn't get one. I wasn't at the show. I'm just a pretty hardcore poster collector and to have a Wrigley poster is a badge of honor. So I figured what the hell, I'll try. (I also think its the best looking one of bunch). Anyway... a couple hours later I checked my email... and it had friggin' order confirmation from Ames! So I checked my CC, and there's a charge for it too! So some way, some how, I got through. I hope. Until I see that cardboard tube on my doorstep, I'll be looking every for a CC refund or a "we're sorry" email from Ames... hopefully that won't happen!

Ah, I didn't even know about this. Do you think Emek or Munk One will have some up as well soon?

Munk one will be sooner then Emek, and Munk One typically gives at least one days notice of his sales. Recently Emek has been putting posters up around 3 weeks or so after the event.

Tried for the variant and was lucky to get a regular AP. Talked with Munk for a bit. Said he will have these next week.

Had a variant and a regular in the cart for a friend who was at the show. Sent him a text to see if I should buy, but I think he was still nappy nap... went to buy em anyway and the cart had been fluched.

Got 'server errors' while trying to check out the first few times, then the variant disappeared, then the regular...

No luck at Ames in the last few tries.

After 40 or so minutes of error messages, and starting to complete the sale, but never being able to complete it, I got the cart empty message. Checked my email, and I had a confirmation. Hoping I get a tube and not a refund.

Where do you find out about these sales? I need to get on whatever list that is.

    Server screwed me too.
  • Since I was in Chicago, & live in Michigan, my card issuers suspected fraudulent usage, blocking any purchase from being finalized.
Had both regular & variant in cart through end stage & couldn't check out completely om Ames' site or 'Paypal'.
    Very frustrating, but oh well.

    The variant looked great

Should have been the show one imo

Not a fan of the variant. Too dark the red & blue. Emails were sent out of the sale just a few minutes during the rain delay last night. Sale for 7AM PST. There was no word on the variant in the email and seconds into the sale which went online a few minutes before 7AM. Then another email was sent out about the Special Edition print, but not about the Variant that had a run of 55. Was able to score a regular edition via PayPal, trying to by pass the Server Errors, 40 minutes later ...

for posephus, if you go to the artists website, in this case ames bros. you can sign up for their mailing list. just make sure you have your settings set up so that it doesn't get tossed in your spam folder.

I thought the same thing. Side by side comparison makes the show edition look washed out or faded. That said I think I scored an AP.
