I just heard reports that some of the stages have collapsed because of bad weather. Can anyone confirm this? Did anyone get hurt?

I just heard from 1Vedhead who is there.

Evidently some crazy weather hit. Heat, then rain, then finally massive wind gusts with hail. The gusts knocked over some lighting and speaker towers - which fell on people. So, some people have been hurt. I could hear sirens in the background as we talked. This all happened as My Chemical Romance was getting ready to take the stage. No stages collapsed, but banners and things have fallen and are blowing around.

Riot Police we're brought in to move the crowds out... but nothing too crazy has happened with them.

Right now, they are hanging tough, trying to find out what's going on... holding out for PJ.

I'm not sure... I got the impression the injuries weren't serious, but it's difficult to know because they didn't want to get in the way of emergency crews.

So, right now they're just waiting for an official announcement.

From a local newspaper on web which is following the festival:
a tornado came across the festival area around at 5 PM
At least 6 towers of the main stage fell off. Some injuried people (the say 8-10, two of them seem serious) with fractures on heads and legs.

They say the concerts are canceled, for now.

Thanks for the updates. I just got an sms from someone there...apparently there is pretty bad lightening and everyone is being asked to leave. My friend says "it is surreal." I hope no one is injured badly, but she says that all she can hear is sirens. Wow...this sucks.

I am Italian, I've read some italian sites.

No stage is crashed down, but some support structure, like maxi-screen or light towers, did.
Some people (more or less ten) are hurt, mainly broken legs or head traums. Two of them was seriously injured, but i think not in death risk.

Now there are the news on TV, i will write soon.

It's on the national news right now, I'll type as they speak...

there are at least 8injured. The festival has been suspended. Bad weather. They are showing images... it looks really surreal. Looks like a warzone. There were 30,000. Some towers fell. It looks awful. They moved people to different areas. In venice itself only a few drops of water.

Just read that medical sources of the festival say there are no people with serious injuries.
