    will be snow Friday and Saturday, but at 4,500' and the pass is 4,061'

    Flying around 12:30 on friday. pick up tix, merch, check into Hilton downtown, then work my way over to Kell's. Going to need some fuel for a long day . . . looking for taste of Portland. Suggestions please. can't wait.

    we have some really amazing food here, so you should narrow down what you are looking for to get some specific recommendations/suggestions.

    we have some great sandwich places, we have some great sushi places, some great Pho places. we have several food cart pods downtown, with about every type of food you can think of. there are great places on Hawthorne, Division, Mississippi, and Alberta. Those are all on the east side of town, so visitors likely won't make it over there. knob hill (up burnside to 23rd) is a great stretch, plenty of places in the pearl close to the Hilton too. kells kind of sucks comparitively, but i know it is where the preparty is -just saying you should try to eat elsewhere.

    you will not have trouble finding great food and great beer in this town. the trouble is downtown and near the venue is kind of the generic portland.

    I hope they invite Janet Weiss to sit in for a couple of tunes...I think she still lives in Portland. Wishing for Getaway or Lightning Bolt. She has a punchy bombastic drum style that would totally kick ass on those songs. Anybody want to start a petitition?

    Quasi did an all Who cover show a few years back for New Years...maybe she could sit in for one...
