I was considering hitting Phish on the 20th but not after reading these reviews. I am hitting John Butler Trio at the Vic on Thursday. Woohoo!
wow, thats the most disturbing review ever. I can't tell if its real or what ?!?!?!?!
It's fake... Just some troll fucking with people. I thought it was hilarious.
Oohhh. Okay, good. hey, you never know!
Still, those reviews about the lawn are really concerning. I was actually imagining something more like the slope at Alpine but in the city. :?

Hey here's a map that gives a cool look at the venue and its surroundings. Thanks to Jstein1978 for sharing it with me, thought I'd share it with all of you guys too.

Definitely not diggin' those yelp reviews since I have lawn seats...a muddy swamp, warm/expensive beer and bad bathroom situation. I hope they get their shit together before the 20th and 21st!
I'll ride the wave where it takes me...

Run away my son. See it all. Oh, See the World!

Here's an interview with our man Trey that aired on PBS yesterday. I found it to be quite cool. He comments on his side projects and the worthiness of his time spent doing them, which perhaps can give us an idea about why our five guys all are doing their things. He also talks on changes in the music industry. BTW this is Phish's 30th year! Some nice quotes:
"I watch the audience all night. I want people to have a good time. I want people to be in a state of release. It's a reason for living for me. If I see somebody lit up in the audience, that's enough for me. It's not really about the band playing well. I want to see somebody momentarily released from the drudgery of normal life."
"Music saved my life....Music has always been there for me. It's always been a healthy escape for me and parachute when things are going wrong. If I can provide a tiny bit of that for somebody else, nothing could make me happier."

And here's another great interview, but this time with Jerry. It's funny how there's a couple of similar sentiments from Trey's if you hear that one in the previous post. And being a PJ fan, there's a lot of similarity here between them and the Dead, especially when he talks about the fans sharing bootlegs. Enjoy!:

for anyone going, please support the mockingbird foundation and have a beer here
T.J. Catalani and the management of the Rock Bottom Brewery in Chicago are graciously fundraising for The Mockingbird Foundation on the weekend that Phish plays in Chicago.
They will be serving an ale, called "Sample," all weekend, and fifty (50) cents of every pint sold will be donated to Mockingbird. The ale is "a big, hoppy amber," that was "brewed with caramel malts and generous late kettle and dry hops for a touch of malt sweetness." It also has "a heady pungent hop aroma, bold resinous hop flavor and a touch of alcohol warmth." In addition it will be sold in mason jars with the Foundation's logo on them! Here are the details:
Thursday, July 18th: "Summer Honey Tapping Party." $1.00 from every pint of Summer Honey that is sold will benefit The Mockingbird Foundation! There will be live music beginning at 6pm from Whiskey Jezebel (http://whiskeyjezebel.com/) as well as "Complimentary Passed Appetizers" at 6pm. There will also be a 50/50 raffle with 50% of the pot going to the Foundation, with the drawing around 9pm.
Friday, July 19th through Sunday, July 21st: "Sample" ale will be served in mason jars, with $0.50 from every jar sold going to The Mockingbird Foundation.
The brewery's hours are 11 am until 2 am, and all ages are welcome. Please hit them pre and post show if you can and support this effort! They are right off the Red line at the Grand stop, at One West Grand. From the venue, you walk about twenty minutes to the Red line at Roosevelt (the closest stop to the venue) and head towards Howard. They're 5 stops away (7 or 8 minutes).
Phish.Net and The Mockingbird Foundation cannot thank Rock Bottom Brewery of Chicago enough for their generosity. This is the first time a brewpub has ever hosted a fundraiser like this and we are blown away. We hope you all support this effort! Thank you!

That child birth story is frightening! Not sure I am familiar with some of the pronouns being used, but I get the idea!
