Eddie Vedder Solo Tour Recordings

The way I see it, since a lot of the songs in these shows were covers, maybe he has to get copyright permission before he releases any recordings of them. That could take awhile. Which sucks, because I WANT THEM!
Or maybe they're just building suspense, who knows.Chicago 2000 : Chicago 2003 : Chicago 2006 : Summerfest 2006 : Lollapalooza 2007 : Chicago 2009 : Noblesville (Indy) 2010 : PJ20 (East Troy) 2011 : Wrigley Field 2013 : Milwaukee (Yield) 2014 : Wrigley Field 20160 -

Of course, he isn't obligate to explain, but it's a better attitude than threaten people.
agreed
whats weird is i think the whole camera/taping policy somehow got linked together for some strange reason. the camera flashing was out of control(alla vic theatre) so i certainly agree with that, but, audio taping is very unobtrusive so i just dont see the need to order FLAC's and MP3's to be taken down alla lawsuit style from 10c
for the people searching for answers please note it definitely has nothing to do with cover tunes being played at live shows
and to beachdweller's response about ev possibly being worried about torrent sites offering up ITW...to that i say....why should ev really care, when he already has a zillion dollars in the bank? besides, bootlegs and official studio recordings are 2 entirely different things.0 -

Pearl Jam star Eddie Vedder fears he'll have to increase concert ticket prices after years of fighting to keep them low - because fans keep stealing his songs. The rocker was one of the leading voices against high ticket fees - and famously took on Ticketmaster in America - but now he feels downloading is killing music and he'll need to seek profits elsewhere. Vedder says, "A lot of people are getting your music without having to pay, and it's only $12. "I ordered eggs at a little restaurant in Seattle and it was $9.50. I was thinking, 'You can't spend two extra bucks for a record that you put your heart and soul into?' "I think the problem is to charge more for tickets, which is something we've always been abhorrent to do; either that or you're gonna have to start accepting sponsorships, or start selling your music to Viagra. "I'm not sure how we'll do it. I'm glad we gave money away when we did - when it came in from making records. We kind of spread it around and helped people in our community and abroad in different ways."-
"In your case, I'll check my brain at the door and we'll start even, okay?"
Have you thanked a taper today?0 -

i remember reading that and let me take my comment 1 step furthur...when csny tour they charge $250+ for upclose concert tickets. for those bands/artists i have zero guilt in downloading any of their official cd's. i certainly i would never be caught actually buying the eagle's newest cd...even if it was $9.99!
ev solo tour grossed approx 1/4 of a million dollars per show and i make 17$ per hour...
I did buy Jeff's new cd without hesitation, and i do for all idie/new bands...but these super rich rawk stars complaining about people downloading their cd's just doesn't do anything for me anymore...besides how much money gets into the artist's hands from actual album/cds sales?
anyways this is all off topic and besides why should really rich rawk stars even care about bootlegs/youtube in the first place? springsteen gave up that fight and finally saw the light...seems him and ev should talk more
search bruce youtube last show milwaukee...or check dimeadozen for bruce boots...betcha find tons!0 -
I'm not sure what Pearl Jam's contact is, but the artist typically receives about $0.09 cents per song on the album. This is the standard set by the RIAA. It is VERY Low! The majority of the album sales go to the Record Label, the Distributor, Producer, Manufacturor, etc. Plus there are 5 members in Pearl Jam, so they have to divide this $0.09 per 5 members. Maybe it's not $0.09 cents, maybe its $0.60 cents. Whatever the profit of record sales is, it's generally very LOW! (Not to say that musicians are poor, but record sales are very low for the artist / performer / & songwriters )A child's rhyme stuck in my head...

Thank God (for me) the band released the recordings on the previous tours.
Why are they now turning back to the dark ages on the EV shows?
I guess I will have to pay the money now to a downloading company rather than to EV/Tenclub for 3 shows I already paid $75 bucks each to ticketmaster to see...... this dosen't make much sense for anyone (EV, Tenclub, me, etc.).
I hear ya, I used to drop BIG coinage at record stores. I remember paying $60 for a double CD of PJ in Kansas just because it had "The Kids are aliright" on it. Ahhhhhh the memories.......0 -
Why do fans feel entitled when they should feel grateful?
How lucky are we to have had the EV tour at all??? Now we feel we are entitled to every shred of audio\video and we cry and whine and steal to get it??? I want these things just as badly as the next person, and I will be satisfied to get them IF it is professionally released. Why do we all have such a need to OD on a great performance that we will disrespect the artist to achieve it? I have the memories of the concerts I was able to attend and I am happy with that, if I get to re-live it GREAT!
Think about it, the performance is what they do for a LIVING, it's thier job.. how would you like someone to rip your work out of your hands and not pay you for it? Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.0 -

That's really a stupid quote, I hope it is taken out of context. When you are selling posters, bootlegs, t-shirts, tickets, and what not, how are you needing to sell Viagra to supplant lost revenues from downloads of your music?0
