White Backspacer and PJ20 Giveaway!
I rarely post so please be patient. I was at dinner with family and friends, a friend noticed a uniformed soldier and his wife eating and asked the waitress if she could buy their meal. Awesome right! I thought since it is Memorial day and although this man obviously didn't die while serving I should try my hand at giving too.
Anyone who performs a good deed for any member of the military or their family post the story here. My wife and I will choose our favorite Sunday night and ship the record Monday. First place can choose which record.

First and foremost, much appreciation to all our Veterans and all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to give us the freedoms to have these forums. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend where we honor our brave that have fallen for us to be here today.
Second, I don't know what to say in response to all the nice and most generous posts here. Of course I would use them to further benefit supporting our Troops. My nonprofit has two missions: 1) Send tons and tons of care packages to those in Afghanistan as loving reminders of support. 2) "Rock Star" Welcome Home greetings when they come home from deployment.
This thread is a most generous offer by the OP and just the idea of the OP using generosity and giving to bring more awareness for US Troop support is amazing.
Speaking of which, I have to share an experience that happened Friday that I am most grateful for as it was truly priceless. My son's school's principal has made it his mission to make sure every child of his school every year learns the true meaning of Memorial Day and to make sure it's not known for BBQs and going down the shore. For the 2nd year in a row, my group, Operation Yellow Ribbon (a derivative spin off group as The Yellow Ribbon Club shut down in 2012) helped participate by coordinating the Welcome Home greeting of a father of a student who was deployed to war and he was coming to the school to speak to the kids. On top of that, the Principal got a lunch sponsored and invited any Veteran who is a family member of a student to come for free for lunch and there were about 50 Vets there sitting there eating lunch with their grand kids and kids. It was priceless. We had The Warriors Watch escort our returning Hero and about 500 kids were out in the parking lot going crazy, screaming and cheering as they arrived.
Here are some photos of the event as well as an article.

Thanks for letting me share. Thanks for supporting our Troops. It doesn't matter how you feel about war or which way you lean politically. We are all Americans with our brothers, daughters, sons, and daughters over there and they have families here at home too all making sacrifices that less than 1% of the population makes. For that and more, we are most grateful and wish them all a safe and speedy return to the land of the free.

Jacob - it was our greatest honor shipping care packages to you- our Brave. You being on this forum and a Pearl Jam fan too just made us work extra hard to get you as much as we could. Welcome Home to you!! For all our Veterans - thank you for making the sacrifices each and every day so we can continue to enjoy the daily freedoms provided to us.

I drove to Fort Hood, and saw it for the first time. It's still one of the largest active bases, Elvis was a resident there. He had left the building, though.
Yesterday, I went to a lake, and rode the boat all the way to the dam, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir.

All these thing I never knew, and learned in a weekend.
To me, the best thing was to admire and honor the past and the present.
I've got Soul, but I'm not a Soldier.
I'm not that strong, or brave.
I played "Soldier of Love", for a friend that had never heard it before.

I like Stone's? Cha- Cha- Cha, at the end of this video.)
I know the contest is done, but I wanted to share. I have to leave for work soon. Thank you, if you liked it.
