You were wise not try and take a picture of the stare full on. I've seen people's phones literally catch on fire from trying such foolishness.

I think if more 10C members were brave enough to share their stories that others would benefit from it as I had no idea of the power of the McCready stare.

I agree...although I noticed the stare when I saw Pearl Jam previously, the experience is totally different when it actually happens to you and you are close enough to feel the heat of the stare. It's best for people to be prepared if the situation arises for them...and since there's the 10C lottery that could land anyone in the first two rows...it could happen to anyone...

Hi Ashlee. Welcome. You've come to a safe place. I can only imagine actually receiving the McCready stare at this point in my life but you're with friends here who can help you. Whenever you need us in your recovery, we'll be here. 8-)

I got it during at the Flight to Mars show a couple of weeks ago. He sang "To Hot to Handle" right at me! Needless to say I thought I was going to burst into flames!

I also got to rub his head when he came down to rail...his hair is very soft :oops:

That was close, but it wasn't it. I think the camera would have broken if the camera person tried to catch the stare in action. Mike will lock on a person's eyes for at least 30 seconds (depending on how much healing the audience member needs). In this video he may have been scanning for people that need healing by giving them a quick blast. When I saw it in action and felt it, it was really locked on. He didn't look at his guitar or anything like that. It was you and him for a minimum of 30 seconds.

If anyone does capture it on camera and survives, I think it would be bigger than the video of Big Foot. I think if anyone does capture it, it will be when Mike is locked onto someone near you.

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if one of the camera guys captures it and broadcasted it to the entire audience at once. It's probably too dangerous to attempt.

On 9/21/12 I was one of the lucky ones (hail hail) to be on Mike's side at the DeLuna Fest. I had never heard of the McCready stare so I was not prepared for what was going to happen. I was one person back from the rail so I was set for PJ. At first Mike locked eyes on a few people behind me that were wearing the Team McCready shirts. I saw lasers going from Mike's eyes to the audience member's eyes. You can't see this on any video and can only be experience in person. It might be some super power that he has. And no, I don't use drugs.

Then it happened to me. I can't remember what song it was but Mike's Eyes locked in on me. It was intense. It was like Mike and I were the only ones there (ok this is starting to sound a little gay not that there is anything wrong with that). I only lasted 45 seconds and I had to look away. Mike kept going for another minute and then looked away. I wish I was more prepared.

Perry Farrell did the same stare, and It was awkward. I will trade this for the Mike stare anytime!

It's happened to me a lot and I've only seen Mike twice.. (Philly 2 and FTM 2014) I always laugh after he does it and he laughs too because he knows I've caught onto his little game. He did it to me at the FTM show. He tried to stare at me and I gave him the "I know what you're doing look". He just started laughing. Haha.

Yeah Yeah The Stare. At the Showbox Flight to Mars shows! I got a pic of The Stare. Its a weird feeling. Mike doesnt miss a note. He'll do that shit while hes playing a killer lead!. I traded guitar picks mid lead with Mike. I didnt realize it until i looked down and i had his pick he was tearing up a lead with MY guitar pick!
