The big news is that three girls in Ohio, who have been missing for more than a decade, have been found alive. Their names are Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight.

The three were abducted in separate incidents in the earlier parts of the decade.

An unexpectedly great aspect of the story is this interview, via Newsnet5.com, with the man who discovered them.

His names is Charles Ramsay ... and probably the greatest witness account ever.

Crazy story. Too bad one of the girl's mother passed while she was in captivity. They're saying the 6 yr old is one of the girls daughters. String these 3 guys up hard.

I don't think I want to hear what they've gone through.
    Alright, alright, alright!

Glad they caught the guys who kidnapped them.

But, when he said there "was nothing interesting about the guy, well, until today" slayed me.

Happy to see they are now free, but it also boggles my mind how people get away with this, keeping people hidden for years, often decades without detection

    that's so FUCKED up

Sad story, hope all ends as well as it can for these girls.

But, the interview from the guy that saved them is fantastic. I'm glad he walked out of McDonalds when he did.

Not sure if there was a link to the interview in the op's link (my phone was spinning on that thing), but here's a YouTube link

So rare to have a positive ending to these kinds of stories (missing people). Glad to know they are alive and now freed.

It's a good thing that ordinary people see things that's strange and act on it..nowadays when almost everyone is wearing a phone and all..

I saw "Cleveland" and "Ohio" trending on Twitter and thought to myself "Let me guess: school shooting in Cleveland." Very, very happy to see some actual good news for a change on Twitter.

What this dude did was heroic, without a doubt.

Apparently the "men" who did god knows what to those women were brothers.

Well, in defense of Florida not having too many successful abductions lasting for years, there is the tiny fact that we don't have basements.

i don't remember the kidnapping, though I am really glad that they found all the girls safe and sound.

Still cannot believe how someone would or even could keep a secret like that for so long.

    Did anybody see this? http://nymag.com/thecut/2013/05/elizabe ... worse.html

perhaps abstinence is NOT the answer after all...(not saying that these girls were religious, but I found it ironic that I saw this article first today, and then heard about the Ohio case)
