Awful? To each his own I guess. Blood is actually on my bucket list of songs I want to hear live. One of my favorites.

Definitely all personal pref.....but I could die a happy man if I go to another 50 shows and never hear this again (Blood). I think it pisses me off because they used to have that funky little riff thrown in but never extended it. I think that could have made it a RVM type jam live.

And Dissident is my ringtone....fantastic live song.

Well, extending songs is not a PJ thing. It is bluesy rock bands thing, playing the same riff for 15 minutes. Rolling Stones, Lynrd Skynrd do that a lot. I am not saying it is bad, but it is not the essential of what PJ does. They do that with a few songs in a show only.

Yes. I have never been able to get into this song. I've tried and tried but no dice.

Ya know I was planning on giving you a tongue lashing, but I could definitely see an argument for it being towards the bottom of the pile. It is an amazing tune no doubt, but just about every song on there is a monster.

Put a gun to my head and I'd probably pick WMA or Rats. For those thinkin I may have something against such groove-laden tunes, not to worry. WMA feels a bit like one of their more experimental abstract pieces and for I've never thought Rats was all that great.

I'd guess if there was a vote it would be Glorified G, but I love that tune. Very catchy and I love the hoedown feel to the rhythm guitar behind the solo. And I don't necessarily agree with the anti gun sentiment, but I think some of EV's best lyrics are overtly political, and I wish he'd do a bit more of that and less of "riding waves".

Great post IMO, and it largely expresses my sentiments as well.

No, it isn't, to me the ones I like the least is Glorified G, pretty current with this gun control issue, and Leash, I could easily skip them...
Leash starts out great, but I lose interest after the second verse.

Can't explain why, but Dissident is probably the Vs.-song that i play the least.... it has just never really been my song.
Luckily Vs. is full of other great songs :P

Small Town is the weakest. ;)

It is actually seriously difficult to dislike any of Vs.

Wow. Blood is probably my favorite PJ song. And Dissident has always been the one song I just flat out don't like. Funny how diverse everyone is on their PJ!

Tell me about it. Guys trashing the wonders in vs left and right. Should be a high-heads convention here.

I love vs. I just don't love dissident. It's simply ok. I'm not saying its a horrible song. There's not a song on the cd I dislike.

No, I like dissident, I think the whole album is pretty consistent. It was the first pearl jam I bought and was a big inspiration on my life. I think the album represents the band better than ten, production wise and would be strange without one of the songs they all play a part. It's a very underated album and songs from it are played regularly live, such as rearviewmirror, daughter and indifference. So no, I like them all.
