bring on the hate.
Knowing what comes makes it less special..
bootlegs really can't represent the vibe of the show.
Yes. But that being said: bootlegs are not the same thing as being at a show. That is where people discussing shows need to find a way to step back from the experience of being at the show. Whenever this sort of post comes up, there are always people who pick a show and say "well, you had to be there". Maybe so: but you can't do that with a bootleg. There are also people who can only ever mention shows they were at...as if it's just the worst thing in the world to admit other shows might make better bootlegs.
I wish the bootleg discussion didn't always go down this path, but it always does.
I am totally biased to shows I went to
that's why I can't be objective reviewing my shows only other shows.livefootsteps.org/user/?usr=446

I cheated and gave 14 shows instead of 10. But these to me are the top shows of every major touring year since 1994 (I have not heard enough 1993 or earlier to choose- I'm not even sure enough exists to choose).
I also managed to fit in the USA, Canada, Europe, South American and Asia.
I tried not be be biased for shows I attended but I ended up choosing some of my shows for 2008-2010 anyway. 2003 was my toughest year to choose and I'm actually surprised I picked Leeds for 2014. Grand Rapids wins my most underrated award haha. Also, the Vic was probably amazing live and I love rare setlists but I'm not that big into the boot so I didn't include it.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

I know, I need to dig deep into this era. I have some shows but I have not listened enough to know which show is which from memory. I'm more into the longer, varied sets and there was obviously less they could do in the early years with less songs.BinFrog said:

The lack of variety and length was made up for with intensity and a desire to absolutely destroy everyone in the crowd.SVRDhand13 said:I'm more into the longer, varied sets and there was obviously less they could do in the early years with less songs.

This list is constantly evolving, currently have over 200 shows on my phone. I probably didnt give 2006 enough credit when I did a list last year.
1. 3/17/95 - I can flip flop this with #2, these are clearly my 2 favs. I give this one the nod here, for a fantastic Black, and Jack Irons who is just so so good on this boot.
2. 4/3/94 - A classic performance.
3. 7/11/95 - you can feel the energy in Soldier Field. the band at or near their apex.
4. 3/5/98 - Melbourne has been real fortunate.
5. 6/16/00 - great vibe
6. 9/19/98 - Vault #3, far and away my favorite from that series.
7. 9/5/00 - only show on here that I actually attended. Boot lives up to the experience.
8. 7/22/98 - never had listened to this until a few months back. Incredible.
9. 9/19/06 - I'm not a huge Avocado fan, but the songs translate well live, and its played all the way through here. The beginning and end of this show just sound so good.
10. 7/18/06 - no less than Stone himself, calls this one of the best shows they've done. Boot confirms it.8/16/92
