which right to peace and quiet is that?
Would you prefer he revved his motorcycle engine for an ungodly amount of time? or how about his classic car?...unfortunately there is no right to peace and quiet. If you don't like it you can always move and unfortunately that is what it comes down to. People have to have the ability to live their life. You could always go to a county board meeting and ask for an ordinance regarding noise I bet you aren't along and would probably get support for one in terms of amount of noise and time of day.
Brian, have you tried working something out with your neighbor? I talked to my race car driving/mechanic neighbor about the times he works on his vehicles and he was more than accommodating. I can't really be mad at him for doing it in the afternoon when I am trying to take a nap. Noise canceling headphones FTW. I was surprised he was willing to work it out too because he is a huge asshole.
Being considerate is a cross to bear for many. I hate that I am considerate of other people in almost all situations, I go too far in putting myself out for other folks who don't really even know or appreciate it. on the other hand it gives me anxiety when I am with people who aren't considerate of their surroundings so it is a double edged sword...I hate that I do it, but I have to do it or I go crazythat’s right! It's illegal to discharge a firearm in my county except in the protection of a person's life
or property as with most counties here.
Rural counties vary but most you need 10 acres of land to be able to shoot on your property.
A few years ago a mother was sitting at her computer in a nearby rural county
and was shot and killed by some kids who skipped school and were target shooting in their
backyard which were sizable country type lots.
Not sure if it was illegal or if that incident changed laws.
Maybe you can work to get your laws changed before an accident happens.Get laws to change when & where
remember Newtown how many laws have changed since

not on who can own a weapon legally and responsibly though. Check local laws of surrounding
counties. Start a petition of neighbors. Contact local media and representatives.

nothing wrong. That is pathetic and sad. To punish people who do not break the law
nor have motives that are anything but noble.0 -

"not on who can own a weapon legally and responsibly though."
...This just reminded me of something I heard on the radio this morning as they interviewed a nurse who was pushing for improved background checks. She said last year there were 100,000 people denied a purchase of firearms due to failing the background check. I dont know if that was the US or a particular state or something... but her point was that if background checks were more universal and there werent so many loopholes, a lot more people would likely be denied purchase because of failing a background check = Less guns in the hands of the irresponsible.Post edited by JonnyPistachio onPick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0 -

The laws we have in place tell us who can own guns legally, but unfortunately
laws don't work on the lawless.
But for sure Brian should make some noise if people are shooting in a way that is reckless,
illegal or could result in an accident. This is common sense.
To have comprehensive discharge laws for safety.
Our laws here in GA are probably more the norm than his because we cannot shoot guns
within many counties at all and if rural we must be on large acreage. We have people who
do illegal things though like celebratory fire. There has been an education campaign on this
and of course it is illegal so people are being punished.0 -

cause your band isn't covered under the constitution. :P tho how cool would it be if it wasnt a right to be in a band but an obligation.... pick up a guitar, not a gun.. I can see the promo posters now.hear my name

I am still waiting for anyone to tell me why Americans needs a gun when most Canadians don't?
what makes the USA different?0 -
Have you been here? I've been to Canada a few times.
I looked up Helldorado County, CA. I'm surprised our area has stricter discharge laws than out there.
Maybe time to make a change, if you are complaining I'm sure others are. That what you fear the most could meet you halfway0 -

ive been 'here'... and tbh ive never felt unsafe when I have travelled in the US.. from west to east from north to south. however that is not a reflection of the US but a reflection of the society in which I have grown up in in Australia... and the fact that as a citizen of my country I refuse to be made to feel I do not belong anywhere.. where ever it is that I am. what has amused me most whilst traveling throughout the US, is when I see displayed signs that say concealed weapons are prohibited. I always look twice at such signs and always can not help but release a wry smile from my ordinarily stern visage. it will not matter how long I live or how long I have lived, which despite my most deluded thoughts(and best intentions) is no doubt more than half the life I have already lived, nothing that the 2nd amendment 'enthusiasts' could possibly say will ever convince me that a population armed is a safe population. imo those that hold fast to the 2nd amendment seem to be forgetting in what climate is was written and in what context it is applicable.hear my name

Yes I have been there many times. never had a problem.
since you have been to Canada a few times can you tell me what was different from Canada and the USA to warrant you guys having so many weapons?0 -

How could I have missed this beauty of a thread?!?!?
There is a very simple solution. MOVE! Move to a city or area that does not allow this.
Before you call me an idiot and say that's not reasonable, let me tell you that I've done it. I use to live in a town home community. Hated the shit out of it. Hated so many people so close. Hated the cars coming and going at all hours of the night. No privacy at all. Absolutely hated the neighbors kids that would run and ride their bike across my lawn and tease my dogs. One day I had enough, put a for sale sign out front, and moved to the middle of the woods with no one around.0 -

Simple solution, lol.
The housing market has made it tougher for some people to move. I'm one of them. Took me years, but I finally got the balls to get out of my neighborhood because of shootings and gangs..but my credit is fucked and Im still battling the banks.
