I work in Springfield, IL and there's been a mass shooting just west of here. 5 people dead and I'm afraid to say that it seems that one of the victims was a 6 year old boy. Suspect is in custody, but enough is enough....

Exactly. Do you say someone with anorexia is on the same level as someone, like myself, who suffers from bipolar disorder?

you can answer that question yourself, would your disorder cause you to buy a gun and do a crime ?
I don't know the experiances of bipolar but I would think that mixing some drugs with such a disorder could cause some to use a gun in a crime....and that falls into a whole new legalize drugs debate.

Not in Illinois. We are disarmed. Well unless you are a hood or a politician in Chicago.
We're not disarmed. What does concealed carry have to do with a home invasion like this?

My reply was to gimme who made the comment before details were posted.
Speaking from experience, I would have to say no. When I go through one of my extreme lows, or highs when having an "episode", I'm no more prone to violence then when on an even keel.
I can only speak for myself, but I would think someone suffereing from bipolar would have to be prone to be a violent person as is for the effects of the disorder to make them go on a shooting spree.

Honestly, yeah. It would drive me to do that. Luckily my mania has never gotten anywhere close to wanting to harm others. Now when it comes to hurting myself, yeah...I think I'd get a gun for that. I mean, the thought of "I can cut myself" or "I can take XX number of pills and I'll be gone" are thoughts I struggle with almost daily. So keep a gun the hell away from me. If there was a way of submitting your name and personal information into a database that could be checked, I would do it in a heartbeat.
