This is a CONGRESS issue

There have been cuts and Furloughs all throughout the government and not just the FAA

Perhaps the airline lobbyists aren't working quite as hard as they could be to reverse this furlough. I mean, the meat industry lobbied hard enough that funding was restored so that USDA inspectors could get back on the job of inspecting. Maybe it's not cutting into their bottom line and really does safety trump profits?
