    Yup. The police were not exactly subtle.

    OTOH the terrorists created the hostage situation in the first place and based on what happened in Beslan, I think they (the terrorists) would have anticipated mass casualties as a result of their actions.

    Nope, it's all important. But you said "only thing that does matter". And it isn't. Especially since it was the pressure cooker, etc that caused the most damage.

    This is a group that goes for very dramatic results, but like I said, their target is Russia. They fought 2 wars for independence in the 90s without success and since then they've waged a terrorist campaign to become an autonomous republic and not a Russian puppet state. The U.S. isn't part of that picture.

    I'm really thankful for the intelligence folks out there. Not sure I want to know their means of getting information though. Perhaps I'm an ostrich in that sense...

    (as to singing God Bless America, I see nothing wrong with it. Certainly not worth belitting it by pointing out some kind of irony. I'm guessing it was needed by the residents of Boston and if it helped to heal even one little whole caused by this fuckery, then so be it. Probably part of the grief process - and if not? None of my damned business)

    When I first heard of the bombing I did not initially think they would be Muslim.

    When I heard they were Muslim, honestly I was not surprised, but at the same time I felt bad for the Muslim people because this only further escalates America's hatred towards them.

    It's sad. I met some really nice people who are Muslim at school. They were very nice people. Sadly some Muslims are just extremists and do such bad things. There are extremists in all religions who would kill for what they believe in. Speaking of this, I understand and see what you believe in the "hocus pocus" of religion.     I know my statement was a bit exaggerated, but without religion the world would still be killing and the world would not have progressed to where it is today, despite how terrible the world is. Ironic, but true.
