I have been here for 3 years, never had any water. I turned on the TV. this morning, and saw HORRIFIC pics of peoples basements(3 ft. of water). Then they showed a camera crew about a mile or so from my house, and the street looked like a lake.

I said to myself. SELF! Go look in your fucking basement!:lol::lol:

Its really not that bad, we caught it early, as it was pouring in. We started bailing. We bailed for an hour. All the water is gone, but the house fucking STINKS!!! Cleanup over the weekend should keep us busy.

Not raining now, and the worst of the rain is supposedly over.

Some of these pictures on the news are crazy. This is one of the rare times that I am happy to live in an apartment. My parents got a foot of water in their basement in Park Ridge. I'm sure I'll be over there helping with the cleanup.

Hopefully your basement isn't finished and is just storage. Either way, dry that thing out completely...mold is a bitch

Im ok. The water was concentrated to one area(kind of sort of).:lol::lol:
Never got over 1 inch at any point. But it was coming up through the drain, so we have a stinky basement, with a lot of shit that will now be headed to the garbage.:lol::lol:

I am watching the news now, and there are people in the surrounding area, and surrounding suburbs, that have 3-4ft of water pouring in to their house. I-290(major Highway in Chicago) has been CLOSED in some areas for 4-5 hours, with 3-4ft of standing water.

I will be fine. Not going to lose anything major.
The problem is I really cant start the clean up(the real clean up) until tomorrow am.

If you want to watch some pissed off people, go turn on WGN.com and look at the flooding videos.:lol::lol:

Oh no! The most helpless feeling in the world.

The Red Cross will be able to give you everything you need to properly sanitize and
    decontaminate everything. YUCK!

So sorry to hear, it's back breaking, nasty work.

Turn on CLTV, and watch the sinkhole that has swallowed up 3 cars. The news crew caught live video, of the 3rd car getting swallowed up.

As I headed out to Menards this morning for some cleaning supplies, and maybe a Water Vac, I realized I wasnt that bad off. Some of these streets surrounding me, are just fucking lakes. My steet is just fine.
I made it to Menards and realized I was a little late for cleaning supplies and water vacs.:lol::lol:

People were telling me horror stories. 2-3 ft of water in their basements.

At one point this morning, Kathy needed a kick in the ass!:lol::lol:

"We need to get our drain fixed"

Really honey? Ya dont say.:lol::lol:

Shes kinda cute when she is bailing water.
Until she opens her mouth.:lol::lol::lol:

Before the weekend is over, you will never want to touch or smell Clorox again!
And you might want to just go ahead and get a handle of Jaeger.

    Just a suggestion :P

As I watched the water pouring in through the drain, I look over at the furnace, the hot water tank, the washer and dryer, and realize this could get really ugly. Kathy on the other hand picks up or tent, that we use once a year, that is all packed away in its little carrying case, and says.

    "Mike our tent got wet!!!"

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Like I said, shes cute.

    I'll back up that statement...

it's also part of the reason I live in the heights (i.e. the highest elevation in the greater Houston area) and have flood insurance (everyone looks at me like I'm insane when I tell them that...)
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Exactly, why risk it living at sea level, makes perfect sense.

Mother Nature can be a real bitch sometimes too.

 Yup. I live inland just far enough that when the water levels rise, I think I'll have beach front property!
    That's the optimist in me.

Tom, spotter, has a foot and a half of water in his basement. PLUS! His roof leaked, and his ceiling in his bedroom is about to collapse.

When he called in to tell work he wasnt coming in, Mr. Dispatcher says.

    "We all have problems"

So when I just call in, to see if it is 'business as usual".

    Mr Dispatcher says...

"Hey Mike can you come in early?"
