I can't go the library anymore, everyone STINKS!!
  • this show was ridiculous! Amazing energy from the band and the fans. Great songs... I have lots and lots of great video that I'll post as soon as I can get it converted and uploaded somewhere. I was on the side, about even with the back row of the first section on the floor....so I had a great vantage point of the big screens and shot a lot of video of the screens. It might not sound great now, but if you've seen the screens, you've seen how professionally shot and mixed that video is. It's amazing....and I have boat loads of it!

oh my god!!! what a concert, tonight went absolutley off. There was something about tonight, kings of leon were good, better than Sydney1, Eddie came out and joined them.

The boys came on bout 8.50ish, and started out with betterman. I was tipping life wasted, but i was happy to hear this classic. From what i read in the forums, Sydney 2 crowd was pretty shit, so as usual, eddie got the crowd into B.M, but we sang more than normal. He did not sing until end of the 2nd verse. eddie was very smart, cause everyone in the crowd knows the words B.M to that so every1 was on their feet. During the end of the song he started talking to the crowd which doesnt really happen saying "hello sydney, i got a feelin, have u got a feelin tonight, it's a saturday night, it's our last show in sydney, so let the singing begin" That really set the mood and mosst people were on their feet for the whole night.

They played last exit, world wide suicide, cordouroy, . It was bout then that eddie said "don't get too cocky but this is the best crowd so far, this is the sydney we remember"

Even Flow was spectacular. Matt cameron is a genius, this kid know his trade. Awesome drum solo. Eddie also told us the story behind this song which was good.

Daughter was fanfuckingtastic, they tagged midnight oil beds are burning, which worked a treat.

after the 1st encore break eddie said "i would just like to thank a young woman for making me this bottle of wine. Her name is margret. margret river,"that got everyone laughing. For those who don't know margret river is a brand of wine.

It was just song after song of pure pearl jam bliss, that is the 4th time i have seen them and by far the best concert ever. I've been reading the fan views of other gigs, but i'm biased but it was such a good show, i just hope it gets released on dvd.

Rockin' in the free world was cool. He pulled some young kid on stage gave him a tamborine and rocked out. His name was chris, eddie got him up on his shoulders. Then i was so glad they played yellow ledbetter after that.

And after the concert i hung around and met eddie. He seems a really warm and genuine guy. That is the 2nd time i met him. But his poofter security wouldnt let us take photos or ask for autographs. I know its a long day but a photo wudnt hurt. This leads me to ask, has anyone got a pearl jam autograph? I wud do anything for one

Any way sorry for it being long, i cud write about it for ever but its 3.55am and i'm going to bed. But as molly wud say "do urself a favour" get the bootleg. Cheers!!!

wtf? The Life Wasted board is down again!!!??

I'm still half asleep and hyped up from last night so I'll keep it brief and tell you more later.

Sydney 3 last night was amazing. We ended up not staying in our allocated seats.. (snuck in to Section 48 rear view at Acer Arena -- SHHHHH, don't tell the security staff at Acer Arena or Ticketek ;) ) and watched the show from behind. It was amazing to watch the crowd (it was kind of like seeing it from Ed's perspective) and also to watch the band's antics. Saw a bit of side stage stuff ... Ed running off to towel himself down, running off to have a chat to the woman who does the lighting or mixing, Ed falling over, Mike running around a lot and Ed throwing out all the stuff to the audience at the end of the show (his harmonica?!).

I enjoyed the setlist (even though I thought it was a bit of Greatest Hits night), but we got SMILE! And that boy Ed got up on stage during RITFW (Nick?). Wow!! Lucky kid! Ed spoke a lot too about his love for Australia. Can't wait to get the bootleg!

Sorry, if this isn't very good.. I need caffeine! :D

  • That was without a doubt the best of the Sydney triple! Was a bit worried when I walked in to see the top level curtained off, but the crowd just filled the cavern that is Acer Arena with energy.

The band and the crowd fed off each other, it was just electric. You could tell the band were having an awesome time, they jammed out on a bunch of tracks and they just kept looking at each other with these huge fucking grins on their faces.

Smile was unreal, and Lukin into DTE was just frenetic. The Avo tracks are coming over a treat live, and the 'campfire' songs in the first encore were awesome. And what a choice of cover with a bit of Enz.

I could rave on an on about this show but I think you get the picture!

Interestingly, the third U2 show was the best of those three.....looks like if if you want a good rock gig in Sydney you gotta go to the third : )

Everything hurts today, but man it was worth it!
  • At least PJ got the crowd they deserve at a Sydney show.

I suspect Eddie is a bit of a fan of the works of the finn brothers....

They have done stuff and nonsense in the tag of daughter before in melbourne (1995-03-17).
at the same concert they also did a small bit of "a famous new zealand song" I got you.

I think last night was a case of the planets being aligned...

A Saturday night, a smaller and more intimate crowd.

Acer is a big cavernous hole.

Selling tickets to people who had been to the first and second concerts was a great idea to get an Enthusiastic crowd, (despite the fact it was probably to stop PJ playing to an empty arena more than anything)

The band worked the crowd very well last night, and the crowd responded well.
