And to Sydney siders who were at the 2nd gig last night... If you do not own Live at the garden, go out buy it, whack disc 2 in your dvd player and play chapter 12.....
That is how it's done!
Now off to watch showbox 12/06/2002!
in defence of myself, you try
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSSSS MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
followed by "dont cry, dont raise your eye, its only TEENAGE WAISTLAND"
it aint easy after an insane blood.
However, screw those soft party nobheads who still had voices at that point and chose not to sing.
"a wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw, delivered him wings said look at me now"
we've all been given wings to fly, now all we have to do is soar
Come ooooooon!!! I'm watching this and Lifewasted and still pretty much NOTHING!!! It'd have to be about 11.40 ova Sydne, now.
jemms just said "apparently its brads best of the tour so far!" wish someone would get on here and tell us poor unfortunate souls that can't be there :(
we got: jeremy, betterman/save it for later, soon forget, smile, evolution, green disease, evenflow, alive, free world, smalltown, ledbetter/eruption, daughter/beds are burning, etc etc. Jeff an stone swapped instruments for smile an jeff did a sik solo. Ed came on an did a song wif KOL too!!
Ed made notes that the crowd at 1 and 2 sucked... Said he spoke to Bonno who said sydney were great... and Ed said he was gonna call bono and "tell him we found em"

Ed made notes that the crowd at 1 and 2 sucked... Said he spoke to Bonno who said sydney were great... and Ed said he was gonna call bono and "tell him we found em"
Probably why such a great show...Ed and the boys proving they can get the crowd going too.
Oh man just got back from the gig....it was AMAZING! The crowd was going spastic! The band seemed really happy and in good moods. Ed was talking heaps. Even Stone was going off!! (as much as stone does i guess) The set list was killer. Cant remember it all but we got some good ones like Smile, Soon Forget, Split endz cover...cant even remember the name of it even though i know all the lyrics. Oh it was sick...Ed got a little dude up on stage for RITFW. Crazy...my ears are bleeding yeah!!
ok random order, betterman/save it for later, soon forget, severed hand, inside job, smile, comatosed, daughter/beds are burning, marker in the sand, DTE, given to fly, small town, gone, last exit, WWS, alive, evenflow, jeremy, RITFW, ledbetter/eruption, green disease, i am mine, grievence, RVM, a talking heads cover(cant remeber the name),
It was a saturday night and Sydney was ready to party!
After a few mexican waves, beach ball bouncing (which the security knobs proceeded to confiscate).
Sydney managed to redeem itself as a Rock concert venue.
With the top tiers of acer arena closed, the atmosphere was a lot more intimate than the previous two gigs.
I after spending $400 on tickets to the first 2 shows, decided to take advantage of the 3rd show special price!
It was apparent which of the people around me had spent $100 as they were sitting like lifeless idiots in their seats.
A very vocal crowd, barely sat down, although only a few in my bay seemed to sing along with the avacados, but atleast most stood and rocked along...
I was going ape as I was at the very back of my bay with noone behind me to complain which was great!!
The guys on the floor went nuts!
Easily the best of the 3 sydney shows based upon crowd...

Wow what a great show. Bit worried about the crowd before hand, everyone basically seemed lifeless. I was responsible for various mexican waves, claps, and attempted chants, so I guess you can thank me and a few people around me for the crowd being great tonight. Actually the people on the opposite side of the arena were most likely even more responsible.
So glad that I got to hear Soon Forget, and Smile, both were great. Rocking in the Free world was excellent, mainly due to a kid being brought up on stage, rocking out on a tamborine with Eddy, and being carried around on his shoulders (similar to Touring Band).
Anyway I'll prob write more later, but I have a 10-5 shift today, should be fun.
Pearl Jam, Acer Arena, Sydney, 7th & 18th November, 2006
UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE! I am exhausted. That was a great show.
I was crushed after the effort the crowd for Sydney night #2 put out. But tonight they totally redeemed themselves -- the crowd was awsome -- and they sang loud. Eddie backed up both those sentiments saying after night #2 they held Sydney in low regards but tonight “They got Sydney back”.
Betterman to open, with Eddie letting the crowd sing the entire first verse. I wonder if it was test to see what crowd Sydney was gonna show up. And when they sang back, loudly, it was on. A great opening set, real high energy The first encore – Soon Forget, inside job, then the sing alongs Small Town and First Kiss because Eddie said “it feels like a campfire in here” (crowd singing loudly and the top level of Acer Arena was blocked off with large drapes so it felt like a much smaller area), then a raucous Alive. Second encore finished with Smile featuring Jeff on lead guitar, a great RITFW with Eddie picking a kid from the crowd to come up on sage, playing tambourine with the kid and then finishing the song with the kid on his shoulders (lucky kid, name was Nick) and then Yellow Ledbetter.
Sydney I am proud of you. Thank you for bringing your A game. THAT WAS AWESOME! Can hardly wait for the boot.
Bring on Newey!!!

and too think the crowd went nuts for a damn fine- probably the finest- pearl jam show, when it was because of tim all along!
so very glad they left sydney in the style they did, easily the best of the three, not just crowd, pearl jam rocks, how many thousands? heaps how many you guys felt the intimacy of the whole experience, one mass consciousness rocking to the greatest hope for musical inspired global conscious awakening. goodnight and thankyou pearl jam!

They havent done it since 2000...
