mrussel1 said:Great band! They played at my sisters graduation party. Sadly, they were the only band that played at our high school that by buddies and I on stage crew didn't get to do the lighting for (Quicksilver brought their own lighting crew who, undoubtedly, had a better set up than we had access to, so I kind of get it).Another interesting thing about this band: the lead guitarist, John Cipollina later started a "super group" with other well know Bay Area musicians including Barry Melton from Country Joe and the Fish and called themselves "Dinosaurs". When J Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph started up a band, they called themselves Dinosaur. But Barry Melton had became a lawyer and sued Mascis and company for using the name "Dinosaur". So J, Lou, and Murph somewhat begrudgingly added the "Jr" to their name to settle the issue. Much as I like all those old great Bay Area musicians, in my opinion, Dinosaur Jr. is a much better band. But the change in name did open the doors for the absolutely hilarious accusation by the Creationist museum to deny the existence of Dinosaur Jr.
