I can finally post here! Just got my first record player, so playing the only 6 records I have tonight!!
    Leon Bridges, Coming Home
    Pearl Jam, Vitalogy
Spoon, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
    Simon and Garfunkel, Greatest Hits
    The Who, Tommy
    Queen, Greatest Hits

Question, too: so it's a pretty crappy record player build-wise, and it looks like when I put the record down, it doesn't sit exactly straight, so when it plays...hmm, 'bounce' is not the right word, but it sort of ebbs and flows a bit. Is this an easy fix? Will this damage my records? Don't know what to do.

@samjam Is your new record player working out better for you now?

Forgot I posted this! Haven't listened to any records since. My boyfriend is well versed in record players and he's visiting in 2 weeks, so hoping he can give me some insight!

It was doing it with all records I had. We'll see. Hopefully it's just something minimal.

Does the tonearm ebb and flow up and down or back and forth?

Up and down, you probably have a warped platter.

Back and forth, you may just need to realign your cartridge. Do you have an alignment protractor?

The spindle could be off center in your platter, too.

It looks like the needle is staying in place throughout it all, but the record is the one only really going up and down.

Kinda expected some issues with this player. Not much info on it, and is cheap from the little info I can get on it. I won it, so it was free to me, so no harm no foul if this turns out to just be a dud player. Can't afford a good one right now.

Could definitely be, I'm just surprised that all of my records would be that warped! However, many of them have been in my basement for a little while, so maybe that speaks to the warped-ness. I mentioned that the one brand new one does this up and down thing, too, and my bf informed me a lot of newer records are warped as well. I would have never thought that.

If you spin the platter without a record on it, can you see it moving up and down?

And yes, sometimes new records are warped. It sucks but it happens.
