Tom Wilson Symphonic Scars. A show he played with the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, a “companion show” to his memoir: Beautiful Scars. He was the lead singer of best selling Canadian band Junkhouse (and current alter ego Lee Harvey Osmond). He grew up thinking he was white. He found out in his 50’s that his aboriginal aunt was actually his biological mother. It’s quite a read.

@brianlux and @dankind and @GlowGirl I think you folks might dig his music.

I would more recommend his Lee Harvey Osmond stuff rather than his solo stuff. his solo stuff is more straight ahead rock. The LHO stuff is very laid back groovy jazzy dirty night club type of music.

I love the Maniacs.  Love them.  You can get In My Tribe and Blind Man's Zoo and normal prices.  There is a reissue of Our Time in Eden that goes for big bucks.  So that one is a problem.

That whole record is an ear worm.  It's the greatest pop rock album of all time.

However, this morning I happened to wake up with the lead song from the previous record in my head..

Monday morning you sure look fine
Friday I got travelin' on my mind
First you love me and then you fade away
I can't go on believin' this way
I got nothing but love for you
Tell me what you really want to do
First you love me, then you get on down the line
    BUT I DON'T MIND...YEAH I DON'T MIND....

I really dislike when sides 1 and 4 are on one record and 2 and 3 are on the other. No one should ever be record stacking.
  • why would that happen? what is record stacking?

It's so you could play side 1, and when completed, side 2 just drops down on the TT.    It's stupid.  The only record I have like is my original Allman Bros Fillmore.  It's side 1/4, 2/3.  So you only have to get up one time, in theory, when playing a double record.

I thought I remembered those existing when I was a kid, but then kinda wondered if I’d dreamt it.

saw them on console players, 50s and 60s had the add on 45 spindle to stack for dance parties etc.. and some cheaper players in the 70s and 80s.

no high end player would have them to my knowledge.

It is stupid. I have several old double albums like that besides the Bob Dylan/Band one - including my Quadrophenia. Do you know if the newer versions of these albums are also like this. I just have older ones.

I can't say for every one,  but I have never seen a reissue sided that way.

My cranky old Dual has a stacking spindle and a record-changing function. I've never used that spindle or the function, though. Probably wouldn't even work if I tried.
