can't stop listening to this album since I bought it, such a vivid sounding album, lots of emotions, dark, abrasive, uplifting, I'm really taken by it
Cool. Yeah me too. I've been loving it as well. Not to threadjack but do you now their other albums?
nope, perhaps that is why, I will be getting into his back catalog for sure
we'll get this thread back on track eventually, no need to be concerned
I did start it
it can also be a place to talk about what album someone is currently spinnin
Ha ha. Cool. Right, it's your thread so you'll tale about what you goddam want to. Fair enough.
I followed NC&tBS a lot in the mid 90s'ish. I've missed a couple of albums in the noughties I think but love "Murder Ballads", "Let Love In" & "The Boatman's Call". Older albums like "Henry's Dream" & "The Good Son" are good too. Oh & "Live Seeds" is a good one to. They're cool live of course. There's like 10 of them up there with all the Bad Seeds which is pretty cool. You might like to check out Warren Ellis, one of the Bad Seeds', other band too - "The Dirty Three". There are no vocals, just Warren on his violin + a guitarist & a fucken amazing drummer. So it's a bit different but they absolutely fucken rock. This is one of my absolute favourite songs of theirs: http://vimeo.com/15419848
I've seen them live a few times & every time Warren introduces that song he says this "The is Indian Love Song, or blow it out your fucken arse". He's great. He just raves on & on between songs telling crazy stories. I 1st saw them in 1996 & have tapes, yes cassette tape recordings of the shows. Ha ha. I'm not sure if they're on Spotify but check them out.

haha new vinyl is an easy distraction. Thanks for the advice on Nick Cave and the other member's projects
decided to spin an oldie before it gets too late and it's back to mp3's so the neighbours don't come knocking

Billie Holiday - Greatest Hits. A record with sweet memories attached ...
And I want to add that it is after midnight here and we have been constantly playing records the whole night without the neighbour intervening Moving the whole shit to a different room improved our life!
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!

Speaking of Billie Holiday, have you seen the movie Gloomy Sunday(I think that's what it's called)? Amazing movie, very depressing but great at the same time. If that song's not on your Billie CD check it out as well as the movie.
You guys RSD inspired vinyl marathon sounds great. How You're good.

I have a Greatest Hits vinyl with Billie Holiday songs, and Gloomy Sunday is on there as well. The history of that song is quite interesting. It was originally by a Hungarian composer and is nicknamed the "suicide song" because it is said that a lot of people have killed themselves after listening to it. I haven't seen the movie, but I'll look for it. I got another Billie Holiday LP, but it's not as good as the Greatest Hits one. I love her voice. And yes, everything is splendid here

That one sounds amazing on vinyl. It was the first one I put on when I got home from RSD. It's gotten the most play out of all that I bought that day by far.
