This is never a good week for me, with Father's Day approaching. Always been ridden with survivor guilt since my fellow firefighter brothers died next to me during a fire. I was at the window next to them when the explosion blasted the 3 storied wall on top of us. A split second prior to the explosion one of them yelled it's blowing & I turned away from the building, which saved my life. I was the last person to see them alive. 3 firefighters died that day leaving behind 9 children, who's fathers died on Fathers Day 12 years ago 6/17/01. Many years of both physical & mental therapy has eased some pain but it's something that will last with me the rest of my life.

This coupled with my feelings towards my father, who passed many years ago, makes this a very difficult few weeks.
