    If you go to a pre-party without knowing anybody, it is really intimidating.

    I despise my first pre-party.
    The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

    I didn't have any problem having a good time when I first met people - everyone was super friendly and welcoming ... Just try and chat with some people who are going to the same party here, and you WILL know people. :)

    Look at who's going, who you would like to meet in person, Pm them and show up.
