Bought tickets to Hard Rock Calling at Hyde Park June 25th 2010 to see Wolfmother. They pulled out but I decided I'd still go to see these Pearl Jam guys that I'd heard were alright.
Best concert of my entire life and the birth of an obsession then and there

Soldier Field, 95
Show was the day after Jerry Garcia's last show. Shakedown Street was still in full effect. 90 degree plus day. Almost died due to heat, dehydration, crushing crowd pressure up front. Remember them hosing the crowd down to keep them cool. Almost died but it was the best show of my life at that time.
Oh and still have my stub to be framed with the Ames poster when I finally pick it up.
See you in the GA Pit (sure to be more civilized) at Wrigley!

Hershey 2003. wish I had seen them sooner, but that was the year they became my favorite band. something with riot act, the way I was feeling at the time, the political climate; 9/11 and the Iraq war. it all just came together for me that summer. it was a pissed off time, and pj was playin some pissed off music, and I loved it.
that show always gets a bad rep, but I think it was more due to the venue. which does suck. I had a great time, and if you listen to the boot, it was actually a very solid show. the band was tight that night.
A great setlist, indeed:
SET 1
Oceans, Go, Animal, Why Go, Jeremy, Rearviewmirror, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, Even Flow, Glorified G, Daughter, State Of Love And Trust, Alive, Black, Whipping, Porch, Across The Universe, Tearing, Once, Garden, Fuckin' Up, The Kids Are Alright

9/16/98 - Mansfield, MA... when the venue was still officially called Great Woods.
When the band opened with Release and everyone around me was singing along... it was an unforgettable experience... like heaven had come down to earth... and the rest of the show was incredibly energetic, way more than expected... I was 22 at the time, and had previously been too busy with college and shit to see Pearl Jam or any other band that didn't come to my college town (Ithaca, NY)... but that year I was home in MA and Pearl Jam was playing their first show near me in years, so finally I had a chance to see them (had been following them since '92). I would have put in more of an effort to see them earlier if I had known they were THAT good live.
Also saw them at Lolla a few months later. Ed was late to the show, Cornell was ready to fill in, then Ed comes through the crowd gets pulled up onstage. A roadie literally duct taped his pants up and off they went. That was the first maybe second time Hunger Strike was ever performed live with Cornell. Also saw them the night Kurt Cobain was found dead. That was an eerie show, no one knew if it would happen or how long it would last. I am thinking July 19th will take the cake. Counting the days.
A truant finds home and a wish to hold on but theres a trapdoor in the sun Over 20 shows attended, remember at least half
