Don't even remind us of that, I was waiting in Werchter for Pearl Jam to appear when the news struck me like lightning!! No similar scenario will be accepted this time ... I'll start a riot if they don't show up!

hey i signed up on the werchter board as well as the pit, right now we got a group of four that's planning on having an all night party of the 29th. i'm planning on partying and i am gonna try and get a transit room rate at brussels airport (i've done it with family at heathrow and they gave six or four hour rates) so i'm gonna try and pull a fast one and get a transit room for a couple hours. i'd do the camping thing but ive never gone camping and being from a third world country (i'm from bangladesh) i dunno how i feel about camping...honestly if i had a buddy i'd give it a shot. anyway long story short (as i'm completely wasted right now) i got a couple to party with from this board i believe and somebody from serbia to party with and i guess i'm trying to make it the more the merrier. well if anybody else is interested in doing an all night bash and trying to figure it out what im gonna do the next day as i really dont need to be at the site till three when i want to see somebody and leuven has no available rooms, i'm gonna try and get a room or something in brussels maybe if anybody else wants to join we could do a two for one. anyway hit me up at hybridsession@aol.com or you can sms me at 3123426972 (it's american based cell phone number). hopefully we can all have a good time and have a good party.

I was skipping Werchter because I'd still be on my way back from Roskilde. Went to Rotterdam anyway, met with other fans from all over the world. Very, very sad...

So what's the consensus on the meetup before Pearl Jam, seeing that my thread wasn't too successful....

Also, how hard is it to get to the front? I'll only be arriving at Werchter at around 2 or 3.

Any info on that, Belgians? :)

You're coming from the UK right? How are you getting there?

I think there may be a meetup in Leuven Friday lunchtime/early afternoon (provided I hear from the bleedin' travellers that is;))

    ok, some info:

usually you get in the front if you go as soons as the last notes of the previous gig stop. The problem is that we're talking about Pearl Jam. Alledgedly, they have some hardcore fans who'd do a lot to see "their" band from as close as possible... I don't know if this is true ... just a rumor :-)

Therefore I though it would not be a bad idea to get in the front by the time Kings of Leon finish ... As said, I'd give up Admiral Freebee for that and try to survive Bloc Party (yuk).

The time before that its probably convenient to meet around the PA.

Weather is gonna suck but what the fuck ... last time they "were gonna" play at Werchter we were as wet as ... (I'll leave that to your imagination)

Damn ... why did I ever stop doing security at this festival ... I used to do nightshifts in the Artists area .... grrrr

seriously you don't need to get in that early!! this is not reading or rock am ring where you have to fight for several hours to get to that sweet spot!! If you want a good place it is in my eyes absolutely enough if you start to get up-front right after QOTSA. When the arctic monkeys are gone you'll just have to walk in to the front.

I'm planning on catching a regional train to Leuven in Brussels.

If there's a meetup somewhere, any info would be appreciated :)

I'll reiterate what I said somewhere else: I'd really like to be in a good spot with fellow jammers because the worst thing I can imagine is standing amongst a bunch of non-fans who just don't get into the music!!
