No, I didn't say
- stop buying things from china!
It was a question, like what can one do to stop awful things like this happening?
To start a debate on what can be done, other than only complain and be horrofide.
It's not fair that ordinary hard working people in China should have to pay for this wrong doings.
One could send protest mails to the Chinese embassy or something like that. (There is a lot to be done to better the life of animals in many other countries as well, like said before but China seem very far behind on animal treatment in general from what I've read and seen on the news)

It does fall in line with such comments because it too doesn't account for the millions of people that have absolutely nothing to do with the tiger farms. It might not be as distasteful, but its ideology is the same- broad based characterization or reform in response to a much smaller problem in perpsective.

Read my posts- I never said the comment was fair. I only spoke to my opinion that he made a comment out of outrage. I suggested that perhaps he clarify or 'ease off' so that it sits better in people's minds.

Saying something out of frustration and saying something out of belief are different things in my mind. Generally speaking, I forgive people for blurting something inappropriate when they are angry.

Anyways, I'm not Bronx's defence attorney. I'll let him speak for himself from here on. There were some very strong comments made towards him and his tact. I felt that before we condemned him, we should determine the depth behind his words.

And your second statement makes no sense at all given the context to which it has been offered. The USA has been on trial in many threads throughout this forum- in particular with regards to their foreign policies. The broad scale categorization of the country as war-mongers doesn't account for the peaceful Americans.

The point I made, which still stands, is there have been many generalizations that readily get accepted around here. And, as such, some of the people that have become indignant in this thread should be more consistent with their approach to other topics as well.

The guy said 'savages'. The people who do mistreat the tigers are savage in my mind. This comment was reasonable.

Then he added a quote expressed by Morrisey (the 'subspecies' one) that has a few people ticked off. There were other quotes he had submitted prior to the one in question which were all relative to the theme of mistreatment of animals.

And now... he's called out for being a 'fucking racist'. If you don't approve of the quote he used... then say so and why. I'm not down with holding 'him' on trial as some seem to want to do though. Brian, very tactfully, denounced the comment while maintaining a level of respect for Bronx when he said (something like) I wouldn't go that far... Others haven't and it seems to be for personal reasons: I recall one comment that suggested this entire thread was a way to smear China because of all the criticism that has been thrown at his 'precious' government. It's fair to denounce Morrisey for his words and perhaps Bronx for tossing it in the mix, but I think people's venom might best be used towards the people who work the tiger farm.

I'm not sure to be honest. I was (and am) kind of confused by the leap people took to branding him as they did.

I am a big supporter of IFAW (international fund for animal.welfare), and they aften have campaigns against these kinds of abuses and set up petitions and letter writing campaigns to be sent to the politicians of the counties in question, as well as use donations to help save animals rescued from circumstances like this, work for education about animal treatment, fights against animal exploitation of all kinds, etc. Since you care about these things a lot, my suggestion is that you contribute to and become a member of IFAW, and then email them about these tiger farms and check what they are already doing to help this particular cause and see what you can do to specifically focus on it. IFAW is one of the best and truly proactive charities around with what they do all over the world; they are on the ground with vets actually saving animals from horrible conditions, both man-made and natural disasters, as well as active in the political fight for animal welfare. It's the main charity that i donate to, and they always need more help. And if you or anyone you know has the power to place ads on websites, IFAW has website banners advertising their cause to get more donors that you can use and help spread the word.

Please help in anyway you can! Just for starters, there is a petition up right now urging for the adoption of the universal.declaration for animal welfare, which will be sent to the UN as part of a fight to adopt particular international laws regarding animal welfare... Just one example of the kind of thing IFAW does to try and endorse the cause around the world outside of hands on animal rescue and recovery.
