Maxx totally oversold. I know this because I got one after an hour of refreshing on my lunch break, paid, got confirmation notice, and then went back to work happy, only to get a refund notice from PayPal hours later, long after the other two sites were sold out too. Even took the time to write him suggesting that he re-do the sale (or perhaps do a lottery for all of those who were charged, I don't know). Pretty beat to tell folks they had something then take it back; had I known I would have kept trying on the other sites (probably also futile, but still). Not real happy right now. Love the artwork but may have to support other artists going forward...

I was on the second they went on sale and checked out within a couple of minutes and got refunded, I cant imagine this was a "small" oversold. I am so tired of the lack of accountability of these things. The whole attitude from most people on these errors is we made a "small" error, are refunding your $ and screw you. There is no effort to make things right either a discount on a future order or something. I made the transaction in full faith and now its not honored. As I have said on FB, you realize what site not to buy things on in the future.

It's cool, though, we got our money refunded and now the flippers can go make theirs :) I've often wondered how bad flippers really are for these artists: they drive prices up, create demand, and now the artists themselves are charging a helluva lot more for the same product. I remember the first poster I bought, at Portland '98, for $15 maybe? And now roughly $100 for a poster for a poster convention?

I'm really excited that I was lucky enough to score one of these prints from Maxx242. This sale was kinda crazy with the 11am-1pm range of a sale start time. Felt like the old F5 days waiting for the Buy Button to magically appear. I must have refreshed all three sites screens every 5 seconds for an hour before I saw buy buttons at 12:02pm.

Im no expert but surely if they only make 60 available on the site and as they are taken that inventory reduces how on earth does it get oversold?

I mean if they threw up 60 on ebay with buy it nows - theyd only sell 60 right?

Seems totally screwed up. And although klausens site might not always have been superb to get lucky on i dont recall it ever selling too many.

Gotta agree with many sentiments here.

Thank god I thought the poster was a shocker, and didnt buy into the hype machine.

Nicely said, I gotta say I have only had one encounter with Munks customer service and it wasnt a good one. I bought the chicago pair in 2011, they cost $110 i recall. For some odd reason his people declared it for customs at $260 plus shipping costs, so I was whacked for Uk duty on almost $300.

I thought id ask the question why they inflated the real value, in fact i asked three times, and i would add very politely and was ignored on each and every occasion.

Havent bought a sausage from that site since.

which i have to say is a massive shame as I absolutely love Munks work - and personally feel he is head and shoulders above the rest and has been for some time. Great artist

No Way. The billboard is far superior! Plus, it was done at Alpine for PJ20. The poster is a holy grail for me. The same cannot be said for this print.
I agree...the Billboard is a Grail. The Seattle is just cool to have in the collection.

I think the billboard is the grail way over this sasquatch.....mabye if it was a sascrotch
Cant buy what i want cause its free....

I like this one aesthically more than pj20

That was my sentiment exactly. I find most hype the PJ20 Billboard poster because "I was there" and/or the "emotional connection" rather than the art itself. On a purely artistic level I find this print more appealing.

My paypal transaction went thru this morning to Jeff Soto....even though I was fairly confident I would be ok, hearing about the other guys overselling made me a little nervous. Thats pretty shitty thing to happen

Also reminded me of good ole days for me....F5'n I was like 32/33 only missing VIC show, getting shows like pj20 and all MSG's. Now I was 0/3 or 0/4 on this socialist lottery

F5'n sucks...but if your nuts like me and get the "eye of the tiger" its only about making time to actually execute. I dont have a good feeling about the upcoming touur....I live in Northeast :|

Just wonder how many got refunded cause Maxx might have looked at ebay listings and decided to cancel some orders that matched up with locations. Just sayin.

Storing is simple. If one doesn't have a flat file or portfolio, just get two pieces of foam core board and sandwich the print. Slip it under the bed til ready to frame, or flip.

hopefully after the initial excitement dies down the price on the secondandary market will bottom out for you, have you tried emailing the artist too? they usually hold back a few copies in case of damage or lost tubes.....gotta be worth a shot.

I helped out a gent from across the pond over on EB recently. I purchased a picturesque portfolio from Jerry's, when we felt the best sale was at hand. I then shipped it to him via USPS. Came out to less than $300 and solved his problem. If you ever need the same feel free to ask. No problem.
