Attention grabbing so people will watch? Like I said I saw some commercials for the series
but haven't watched, I'm a bit in the dark. Don't like the resemblance though for whatever reason.

Maybe not if your audience generally thinks the current president is the devil himself. In my experience in my own family, the gun-totin' bible thumpers tend to think Pres. Obama is evil incarnate. Mark Burnett supported Obama in his first election, and supported the democratic party as a whole thos last time around. I'm doubting this was done on purpose, unless Burnett didn't have much to do wit it outside of funding.

how can any logical person NOT think it was deliberate?

obviously producers, directors, casting agents etc. had to know the core audience will be christian conservatives...so does it really come as any surprise?

especially when in this series jesus is being portrayed by a european white guy?

the point is logical ppl would expect something from the history channel to at least try reflect some degree of historical accuracy...since they are passing it off as history. the bible thumpers will conclude it follows along with and supports their narrow (likely errouneous) views

people certainly see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear. I don't remember a crisis from The Passion of the Christ when the devil was damn near albino, and according to another thread here those people don't even want beers named after Rhino's with the same affliction.



For what it is worth, I don't think people were sitting around in make up saying make him look like President Obama.

oh yeah thanks for this pic I was wondering if I had watched it if it would have even occurred
to me the actor looked like our President. I'm think probably not.
I also think many none Christians/ non religious will watch this series.
