good time to be a pumpkins fan. wow. just watched a youtube video of billy announcing an upcoming announcement.
cyr, obviously, out in a few weeks. that is album two in a trilogy of the shiny and oh so bright series. already working on number 3.
mellon collie 25 anniversary. what i didn't know, is mellon collie and machina were parts one and two in a trilogy as well. they are also working on the 3rd part of that trilogy, which he said will also be another double album i think. then he wants to do a celebration tour of mellon collie. not full album shows, because, he said "albums are not meant to be heard live". um, the entire oceania tour was front to back the album in the first set, then hits in the second set. anyway, he wants it to be a celebration of that era.
he said they currently working on a total of 46 songs. that's nuts. how does an artist keep focused when working on so many different projects at once?Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0 -

If we are talking 90s SP, I’d agree. Less so now.0
-
Also, remember Billy had LOTS of plans, very few things make it to market though.0
-
My favorite Pumpkins songs are usually the B-sides. Same applies to Zwan.Glad to hear the Machina reissue is coming.0
-
It always amazing me how many songs were left on the cutting room floor from the albums I live in the 90's. Enough to spawn Pisces Iscariot, Aeroplane Flies High, The extended releases of those albums, extended release of aeroplane flies high, mashed potatoes, etc...I found it's touch and go for me after Adore, but the fact he could just pump out content in the 90s and most of it was pretty good, was damn impressive.0
-
Creative, dont own any of their music but it's unique and maybe my eardrums will devlop a taste for their style someday. No shame in digging them my fellow music freaks.0
-
Exciting times for sure. Cyr is going to be awesome! A 40+ track Machina record not counting extras? Damn! I’ve been saving my pennies for when this box set is released!www.cluthelee.com0

so i pre-ordered Cyr, and so far it's good, but man, do I miss HEAVY pumpkins.

Anyone listen to the album yet? The songs I heard (like 3 of them were pretty decent) but hearing reviews of the album are mixed.
