I'm really glad that other people have the same obsession as me. I always like the real bootlegs, not files on the computer. I can't imagine having allmost every show on the computer. Where do you begin? What do you play? l

I am guilty of keeping the iPod at the top of the list because there are soooo many boots to choose from.
I have listed to any locations starting A-C way more than spots lower down on the alphabet.
Were I better at setting things up I at least would have paired them off based on Year to make the listening easier.

I have created folders for each year. Example: the 200 boots list the artist as "Pearl Jam (Live 2000)". Then each show by:
Date (ccyy-mm-dd format so they are in order)
    City
    venue

Still doesn't make it easy to pick a show, but you can at least pick a tour

I have mine listed per tour. So Pearl Jam Tour 2000, Pearl Jam Tour 2003 etc for each folder and then the boot is listed as yyyy-mm-dd City.

I think now I'm going to head to amazon and get some of the euro 2000 boots that somehow disappeared in a move. I had all of them, now I have 5. argh.

What a nightmare. If I ever move house I'll have eyes on the box containing all the boots at all times!

I found ebay pretty good for 2000 and 2003 boots, I got alot at really great prices.

I'm currently trying to collect all of the 2000 boots myself and Amazon is the best way to go outside of seeing what you can get on Lost Dogs. The only problem is, some of the prices people are asking for Amazon are little too much at times.

And oh yeah, the DC 2008 show is a good one - one of my favorites from the 2008 tour. Never go wrong opening the show with Hard To Imagine. Not to mention, it's 3 discs as well.

I got "lucky" last year when a board member wanted to raise some cash and sell off the entire 2000 set. Was expensive but well worth it. Now I need to find someone who wants to do the same with 2003. :)

Me too man. I'm a huge nerd (and not technologically savvy whatsoever) and I have to have the official physcal CD bootleg with original packaging. On top of collecting all others out there more recent, I'm currently going after the prestigious 2000 boots. They really are something else, although the sound isn't the greatest on them - constantly having to turn the volume up.

Began the quest of collecting the 2000 boots at the turn of the year, and I'm currently sitting at only 22 and have 50 to go!

    complete 2000 , 2003 , 2008 , 2009, 2010

wasn't as motivated to buy during the download years. I have shows I attended and ones I read were great

2011 - waited for the box set, but nothing. So during the last big sale 10 club had, I bought the Canadian leg
2012 - Isle of Wight, Deluna , Montana, Atlanta

Great pic. Your shelf is starting to give man

Great thread, but at this point I have no idea. I will do some counting and come back to this.

Go to boot is not an easy one, but Osaka and Sendai 2003, Philly 2005, Fargo 2003, Soldier Field or Atlanta come to mind. Still need to listen thoroughly to the 8 boots I bought from the 2012 Euro tour though.

I am working on 2000 and 2003 sets. I have complete 2008, 2009,and 2010 sets. I also have the 2005 and 2006 boots, but need 2006 in FLAC. I was wainting on 2011 and 2012 box sets but am probably going to cave soon. I have been searching for pre-2000 shows but I don't really have the opportunity or bandwidth to torrent and so I am just out of luck on those (if anybody has a ton of these pre-2000 shows I will send a hard drive if you would help me out  ). I have been starting to make cool boxes for the pre-2008 boots including ones for 2005 and 2006 sets (which I burn off first and place in cardboard sleeves similiar to,but not quite like the ones for the other official boots; can't seem to find those sleeves anywhere). So yeah, I'm a bit obbsevive too.

My 8 year old nephew lives with us and I watch him obsess over his baseball cards. (And he doesn't know most the players yet!) It doesn't take much of a scientist to figure out this is either in your genetic code or it is not. I think back to when I was a kid and had every comic and card in cases and organized.... :fp:

A college buddy visited 2-3 weeks ago and he comes into my new house and doesn't remark on anything about the house -- he busts my balls because he saw I now have a PJ personalized NJ license plate and just said "I knew you were obsessed but seriously? I took a picture in your driveway to show our friends so they can mock you."
I laughed and said -- "You really have no clue, man!"

Is there a 'poster' one of these threads? I have 14 framed PJ/EV posters scattered around my house still awaiting agreement from the wife on hanging them up. (And I have many, many more in tubes.)

It is good to be among other obsessed freaks. :)

man I used to own around 40 pj posters....i sold a few and bought nice guitars since I knew there was no way my wife would allow me to hang them all. So for now I have four hanging in my house: randall's 96, msg/nj 98, hartford 2010, and her first show (our first show together) toronto 1, 2011. oh shit, I forgot the pj/u2 hawaii 2006 poster (her favorite band is u2) hanging in my bathroom... so 5.

  • Great topic, glad I'm not alone in my slightly obsessive ways...

    Let's see, I have all the official boots from 2000, 2003, 2008, 2009, and 2010
I'm working on 2011/12 now, buying them a few at a time when the budget allows.
I also have a ton of unofficial bootlegs from '92 - '98 or so and a few hundred CDRs from 1990 - 2006, my guess is around 250 total but I haven't counted in a while. So I guess that brings the grand total to around 500. Anyone who complains about the sound on the official boots needs to go back and listen to some of those older shows before official boots existed! Here's hoping they release some '96, '98, or 2005/06 shows in non-MP3 format officially.

As for go to boots, it changes all the time, but here are some of my favorites: http://www.oneearinthegrave.com/2011/10 ... wenty.html

Question, do you collect boots from other bands too?

i checked out the web page of your favorite bootlegs and i was really impressed. I am allmost positive that i've sat next to you at a few shows....at the d.c show in 2008 you said you sat side stage as did I on stone's side.

Man, you are all fanatics. Good luck with your wives with this obsession of yours.

Being a newbie, I only own like 15, so I dont consider myself eligible in this conversation. But I am really getting great tips, so many tnx for this thread.

Question, though. Maybe the answer is obvious, but I just dont know. Was there a time when it was possible to buy official bootlegs of shows earlier than 2008 in this site? If yes, why dont they sell them anymore?

Living in Russia, amazon and ebay are not very practical tools for me, unfortunately.

Update on my bootleg tally thanks to the help of a great 10c member. I now have the complete tours of 2000, 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2012. Thanks, Richard! Most of which are digital files. I too have most of 2010 and 2011. Just not a fan of 2008 and 2009, but I have several from those as well.
    2008: Bonnaroo
    2010: Bristow
    2012: Atlanta
    2013: Charlottesville, Charlotte
    2014: Cincinnati
2016: Greenville, Hampton, Raleigh (cancelled), Columbia, Lexington

Just for your info, 2005/2006 were never released on Cd, except for the three Gorge shows.. the best quality you can get for 2005 boots is mp3 192 kbps and FLAC for 2006 boots, both years were available via Basecamp, but now there's no need to pay for them, since are not on sale anymore and you can get pretty much all of them for free on variuos torrent sites.. 2000 and 2003 were available for sale on TC for a limited period of time (expecially the 2003 ones), all of 2000's were on sale on retail stores too (I remember with a bit of nostalgia all the stacks full of 2000 boots).. 2004 and 2007 were never released unfortunately..
