  • I've just come to the realisation that I only post on this board when something fires me up. I usually rant in a controversial manner (i.e Wolfmother suck) and then get flamed and personally abused for it!

Come tour time I'm going meet some of these fuckers... oh yes...

  • Steve Irwin.....what a freaking champion.....
Im feeling pretty crappy about the whole thing.

Years ago when he first came on telly...i thought he was a bit of a freak, you know, the way he acted and so forth...

then about 5 years ago i was lucky enough to get to visit the Australia Zoo. And on that day Steve was there. Seeing him in reality changed my whole perspective. I knew then that everything he did and said was true and honest and real. I realized that the way he spoke and acted was the real him, and he was so genuine and amazing that I loved him from that minute. He was amazing....just watching him in the croc enclosures doing his thing....he was crazy, but at the same time simply awesome.

I have told that story to so many people over the years, especially the ones who felt the same as I did once, and im glad that I had the opportunity to see him do what he loves.

Today is a sad day for me. I did not know him personally, but somehow feel like i did, because i loved what he loved and respected him for everything he did.
My thoughts lie with his family and his loved ones.

RIP Steve.....I dont think you will ever be forgotten.

I think there should be something to comemorate Steve's work eg setting up a conservation fund in his honour or setting aside a large area of land in his name to be used as an animal conservation area.

    Hi All

So very very sad about Steve Irwin, a bloke who I admired because everything he did was for the better of others, human or otherwise.

All his TV commercials for the "Quarantine Matters" campaign, all the money he earned went back into his zoo. The passion he showed, the genuine love and excitement, the sadness he freely expressed at the destruction of the environment of animals, almost made me want to do something about it hehe

Having been to fancy dress parties and turning up as Steve on no less than 3 occasions, being the life of the party even though someone spent hours doing their KISS makeup, only to be outshone by a bloke in Khaki shorts and shirt, black boots and a wig. The reactions to being Steve Irwin were priceless!! I was being asked to do somersault rolls across the floor, spending 5 minutes giving a "documentary" about the 'front door snake' and doing the whole grab it by the neck and shove it into the bag, bringing a blow up crocodile etc...

There wasnt a person who didnt know him, and whether we loved him or hated him (I personally loved him, but understand why people dont) we respected what he did for animals, and the positive impact his legacy will have.

Anywayz, just needed to write this as I read all the reports on ninemsn, just so sad...

On brighter notes, Channel 10 played Army Reserve leading into Sports Tonight from the news, very nice...

RIP Steve, you will be missed, may the foundations you have laid for us be just the start of what is to come...
Stars walk the red carpet because they're famous - I walk the toilet paper because im the shit.

I also heard last night, "Did you hear who's playing at Steve's funeral?......... Sting"

Yep I think it's too soon, but saying that, Steve was always up for a bit of a laugh.

Awesome. Maybe you could donate the proceeds to his Wildlife Warriors Foundation. They were talking about it on Sunrise this morning. Go to the Sunrise website for more info.
