I'll give you 1 tip...... If you've got friends who smoke, sever all ties with them.
I quit for a couple of months last year, but I felt like I was the 'odd one out' when all my friends went outside for a smoke and I was left inside by myself.
I eventually gave in to the paranoia that I was missing out on something important out there with them when they were having a smoke. Now I realise that the only thing i'm missing nowadays is money in my wallet due to the disgusting prices of cigarettes. :(

Well a lot of my friends have quit or the ones who haven't have moved towns or something so I don't think it's going to be too hard in that regard. And we can no longer smoke in pubs/clubs etc in Queensland so that will make it easier as well.

I keep thinking "fuck, by the time PJ comes, I will be a NON-SMOKER!!!" That is going to be weird -- having a few drinks before a concert and no ciggies....I'll just have to take a shitload of joints with me so I don't feel left out!

I ate soooo much food last night it wasn't funny. Like three bowls of salad, a whole bowl of microwave popcorn, FIVE salmon rissoles....this is between about 6 and 11 last night. But I didn't smoke....that's what I've got to focus on for these first few weeks.

Leigh was still finishing off the last rollies in the pack last night and I was strong enough to say NO. I ate popcorn instead! He wasn't going to smoke and we were going to throw those cigs away but he bought some beers and became weaker and weaker with each one! So we'll see how I go tonight....

Hi everybody, I had the most crazy weekend. I went to the Strokes concert in Sydney and on Saturday met Julian Casablancas. Anyway, he is a really great guy and we were chatting for a while. I told him I loved his song with Eddie Vedder (Mercy Mercy Me) and he actually said he was dissapointed with how it turned out (I love it though). I asked how big a fan of Ed's he is, he said he is a huge fan and that he had to stop himself from going all fanboy on Ed and saying 'do you know I grew up with your songs'. He was so refreshingly modest and sweet. I scamed free tix to Melbourne gig also, so my Frequent Flyer points came in handy.

I've actually thought about that already....and I was pretty bummed out....but then I thought if everyone else will be smoking a cig, I'll just bring out three joints...one for Ed, me and Leigh! Who'll be fucking cool then? MOI!! :cool:
