You dont need to put money into it. It works just like using your card.

So go sign up with ebay, bid on the badges, only enter a bid of either the exact amount she has on the badges, i think it was 15.95 or more. It will tell you if you are the highest bidder. and watch the item until the final minutes just incase someone else bids on them.

Another tip, because she is in the badge market, even if you lose, you can ask her a question and see if she will sell you a set for the lowest winning price.
