Still, yet again we made the football world stand up and take notice.
The boys have nothing to be ashamed of, they represented Australia with pride.
My heart still sinks though when I see the ref point to the spot :(
    Heartbroken, but proud

true that! thats the best post about the socceroos i've seen.

i'm kinda sick of all the bagging of the refs, every game we lost all the talk has been about the refs, almost like we are looking for someone else to blame. we did very well to get as far as we did and every aussie should be proud of the boys. i feel the complaining about the refs is overshadowing how well we really did.

We lacked creativity in our final 3rd. Kewell would've added that creativity that was needed to unlock the Italian defence.
Hats off to Italy though, they demonstrated a world class defensive performance, the kind of which Italian teams of the past have been well known for.
Bring on South Africa 2010...................... but bring on November first!!!!

I agree. We did so well to get through to the second round, and Italy were too good defensively.

Don't you hate it when a team is winning everyone is like "I loooove the Socceroos!!! Never seen them before but I think they're AWESOME!!" (which in some ways is good because more people are watching and enjoying soccer)... but as soon as the Socceroos lose -- "FUCKING LOSERS!! We would never have won anyway!!! Soccer's crap!!!".

I heard that today and just shook my head! Not that I overly like soccer (although I do admit I was enjoying it -- normally only like league)...but I don't like it when people only support and like a team when they win.

I'm sick of people over at Given to Fly complaining that the sets aren't changed up enough! They are sick of hearing Daughter and Alive well these are fans who have probably seen PJ live 30 times each and have heard 30 Even Flows.. I have seen them 2 times and never even heard Daughter live before. My solution is don't go to as many shows if you are going to get sick of certain songs.. and there is my rant.

    True Sus...

I can see everyone's interest in the world cup being severely lowered now by us being eliminated. This time next year it seems like it will be all AFL and league again with a few cricket fans hopefully continuing to celebrate the ashes being back on our shores ;)

haha i reckon hey. These shows in November will be my first for several reasons and I'm going to the first Sydney show with some casual fans and they keep asking me if i reckon that they will play evenflow, daughter, as thats what they want to hear. But when you consider there'll be ~20,000 people at the Sydney shows, how many of those do u think would've heard Undone or whipping etc...mind you I'd love to hear whipping and undone! :D...but they can't keep everyone happy when people whinge about hearing the hits :o

it's a pretty easy song to play, and it's hell cool too, specially if you got 3 guitars, but 2 will do it.

if only they were still doing Jam night at the Hard Rock Glenn. You would have loved it! Andy rocks every PJ song he does apart from the most crucial....Evenflow.....he always fucks up the words!! :D:D

i would love to start a PJ cover band but,
    1. i can't sing(and don't know anyone who can)
    2. it would sound crap with just me and my mate who plays Bass
    3. we need to find a kick arse lead guitarist, i can play pretty much all PJ songs but i can't rock the solos like mike:)
    4. I think i sound pretty good at home but i'm sure i would get booed off the stage if i got up and played.

I have played at a few parties, but mainly just sat in with some mates bands on a few PJ songs. and me and my mate who plays bass played a full set once with me on vocals so it wasn't the best, but we still rocked the dump
