Tell me about it. Ive already cancelled a free lunch at a wicked restaurant. Had a function with free piss that started at 4 and a friends farewell at 630 about half hour away from work.

Im still at my desk with about 2 hours to go.

    Wicked

Listening to All Those Yesterdays. I dont actually mind that track. For some reason I aint heard it for about 6 years

the other admin girl was on holidays this week, so ive done her job as well as mine, because our site wont replace her position if she's away ...

monday i had no breaks, or lunch ...

tuesday same, plus left late ...

wednesday ... some shit (explained below)

thursday, was abused 3 times over phone before it even hit 9am,

friday ... well friday i spent the day filing, then typing up another letter on behalf of all the staff to the area CEO and sector manager regarding the management and bullying issues that have hit local news, the papers, the union, and why half our staff have resigned, or are off on stress leave, or why we are having to get agency nurses from perth ... yep, perth ... to work because there are no nurses to do shifts - (we can pay for that, but we cant have a pc in our admin department other than two old acers (!!!!!!!!) that according to IT were due to be replaced 5 years ago but management wont pass on the paperwork.)

funny thing was - all this was due to start being investigated over a month ago - the person doing it rang and spoke to our manager and it ended there, she never told anyone, she never referred him on to any other staff who want to talk. she just doesnt know the admin girls know he rang ... yah for us :(

blerg ... anyway ill stop - i could go on and on and on with this real shit thats happened this week - over the past few months really ... i get the glorious job of writing the letters on behalf of everyone because i can sound ... 'efficient and still make an impact' ... yea whatever ... but i wont dump all this here ... lets just say im very very glad its the end of the week and im really glad i (hopefully) wont be working there soon...

i wish i could have been drinking with you brendan ...

a metro hospital yea, any large org yea, youve got multi layers of dept and sections and of course theres going to be isses with mismanagement and friction between workers and budgets.

this is a small rural site. some staff have worked there 30 years. it had until about three or four years ago one of the best reputations in that area health service.
it now has long term highly regarded staff resigning over the most ridiculously petty issues you can imaging. it has a 60year old vmo who has worked there 16 years is now getting paid on call rates at a lower level, even tho the higher rates could stay in place at the managers discretion. it has a staff member receiving 'discipline' letters from the manager on her first mothers day since her son died of lukemia. why?? because she actually suggested she would pay for a volunteers christmas party out of her own pocket if the hospital wouldnt. the hide of her!
no nurses on shifts happenes in large sites. happens all the time. try working a small site two staff down when you are meant to have four. makes a hell of a difference. you dont get lunch, you dont get dinner, you dont get a break.
meanwhile the manager blithly announces she's going on holidays in a month. whos doing her job while she's gone?? oh she doesnt know.
or we have finance ring and ask why admin havent started reclassifying patients and notifying health funds that we have changed to mps status?? why?? because we didnt know - out manager didnt bother telling us.

dont fucking belittle this until you work it
