My poor little Connor had a tooth extracted a couple of years ago and I had to lay on top of him to hold him down while he screamed the place down.....it wasn't until I took him to the Dr.s the next day that I was told he hadn't been anaethetised  :( I have never been so angry and upset in my life!!!!!! My poor little man.
The dentist had told me they'd given him 3 needles to numb him and he had.....but it was the Doctor that told me that the dentist could have given him 100 needles and they wouldn't have done a thing, because Connor had an abscess under his tooth which counteracts the anaesthetic. He said that the dentist would have known that, but was probably just in a hurry to get another patient through
To make it even worse.....Connors tooth probably didn't even need to be extracted....a course of antibiotics wouldve fixed it!
Fuck.....I still tear up now, thinking about what he went through that day.....looking at me as if to say "why are you letting him do this to me Mum?" :( People in the street would have heard him, he was screaming so loud.0 -
the anaethetists sometimes hit the sternum when they are slow in waking them up, pushes the air out of the lungs and makes them cough which brings on the breathing so they wake up quicker!0

731 teams!!
Is it the fucking amazing cup?? fark, thats huge!0 -
ozsmalltowngirl wrote:Sairs....I think you were just one of the lucky one's. I know of a lot of people that have had the same kind of experience as Rob's Mum, in the last few years. It all depends on how complicated the extraction is and the dentist doing it. All sorts of bruises when they come out of anaesthetic.

Yes, ive heard about the abcess thing before, oh the poor little man :(
No wonder people have fears of Dentists!!!!!!!!"....and was very surprised to see that he didnt actually have a recipe for anus-ankle soup." - Big Ed0 -
Oz Jammer wrote:It's too much of a pain in the arse to go down to Sydney for the night. I'd rather watch it with my mates (who I've turned into Cardiff fans anyway) down the pub
The game is on 3pm May 17 which means it'll be 12am May 18, live on SBS over here
Staying in Newie and watching it with mates that you've 'recruited' as fans sounds like a lot more fun anyway!!
So the games on at midnight.....lucky you're a night owl!0 -

that's why i was tied to the chair  (:D)
Kylie have you been told you have to have the surgery under full anaesthesia? if you're given the option i'd highly recommend twilight sedation... you're in and out of the dental surgery in a couple hours, can't drive for a day or 2, but so much cheaper than a hospital visit.. maybe something to think about when Glenn's back? you'll be able to respond to questions and verbal commands during the op so maybe this'll help diminish the likelihood of mystery bruises
don't leave it too long.. :(wah0 -

My chiro actually pointed out on X-Rays that 2 of my bottom ones are growing into my jaw bone and it will be a bit complicated and that quite often they have to break the jaw or accidentally fracture the jaw during those extractions
I will have to get it done as soon as possible. It's catch 22 at the moment....I can't have any time out to get it done, BUT with the way it was this time, I've been pretty much wiped out and useless anyway.0 -

oh WOW !! i want that job  do they ever let you do it Sam? :eek:wah0 -
eew tooth stories. I have two wisdom teeth that are (sorry to digust) pretty much just rotting away. a) i don't have money to get them out b) don't have time and c) the most important one.... i have a phobia of choking on those little cotton rod doodad things they shove in your mouth. I don't want to choke to death in a dentist chair. Sounds hilarious, but it's a real phobia :0I have no signature0

ozsmalltowngirl wrote:Geez my wisdom teeth are giving me hell :( I had pertty much no sleep last night and I can see it happening again tonight. The whole right side of my jaw is throbbing!! My ear is throbbing.....my glands are the size of friggen golf balls - I feel like shit!!! They do annoy me every now and then, but this is the worst it's been. I hate taking pain killers, but I've popped so many and they're doing bugger all.
