Beautiful :) Must be weird not having the sun set over the ocean over there (Eastern States) but then again, I s'pose it seems normal for you??

He didn't stay anywhere.....it was just a day trip....but yeah...I imagine some drinking was done ;)

 Geez...I don't think I could live so close to the beach and not be able to use it in the Summer :( Would be torture. I was also reading the other day that there is NO surf in Townsville?? WTF!!!

No surf at all....the REEF stops the waves!

We have big stinger nets that everyone uses. I don't like swimming in the ocean so it doesn't really bother me much. OR people wear stinger suits.

Funny how you look at photos you've taken and you don't really think much of them at first glance. Was looking through some photos I took while in Hawaii and I stumbled across this one. I reckon it could be the greatest photo I've ever taken (to date)

Stinger suits?? Now that's interesting....are they expensive. If we move there I'd have to get some for the kids, cuz they'd want to be at the beach all the time....would protect them from sunburn too :)

No, just get giant chisels and chisel out some nice shaped reef so it can be surfed more :D
Theres a bit of a wave up there but no where near enough!

I don't think they're that expensive. I see kids with them on....not many adults though.

I'm not really sure what constitutes a crap reef or a good reef so I don't know!

    yeah....I s'pose they would, too.
A place my family used to go to for Summer holidays (down South) had really bad stingers and I remember my brother got one down his wet suit once and ended up in hospital cuz he went into shock  they're nasty little critters. We used to have a butterfly net each and catch them and bury them in a big hole on the beach :D

    Hey Susan,

Are there any cheap flights from Sydney to Townsville that you know of?

Went to Townsville about 12 years ago, drove a moke around Magnetic Island and then went on a dodgy barrier reef trip on a really rough day ... nearly everyone was throwing up the whole time ...

But it's cold and it won't stop raining here and I'm desperate. :)

Townsville, Cairns, Alice Springs or Darwin are all looking good right now.

Do you think Dallas will mind if I jump on a plane tomorrow and leave him at home with the dogs? :)

We're gonna have to try and set something up like that again now that we know PJ aren't gonna be here this year

I was thinking today....If PJ tours in March 2009 that means that tickets will be going onsale around Oct 2008 which means in 4mths time we could be buying 10c tickets..

Yeah it's a shame because the sun setting over the ocean is awesome. The sun rising over the ocean looks cool as well.

I need to live on a tiny island where I can get both :D

    Come to Tassie....

Ive got a few awesome sunset and sunrise pics...
But they were taken with a normal cam and not a digital one..
    I need to scan them......
One of the sunrise ones has such pretty colours in it...
