it seriously sounds like a Jetstar flight would be cheaper.

go pick that bad boy up kylie!
Yeah, but a LOOOOOOOOONG flight :( If I was gonna fly that far, I'd want to stay for a holiday....that's when it starts getting expensive.
This board is a VERY special treat for us. We're saving desperately for the big move, but had decided a while back that if another PJ board went up for auction, we'd go for it, as a special piece of art for the new house on the coast :)
As I said....I can't complain about the cost of the shipping.....we did get the board for a lot less than we'd set our maximum.....I'd just rather that money be going to the charities.

    Well, peoples....I'm outta here :)
I feel like shit (fecken wisdom teeth AND bung knee playing up)

    Yeah yeah......getting old...blah ..blah..... ;)

Hope you don't get sick again, Glenn!

Night y'all! Sweet dreams . xo

surely there must be some way to get a surf board from hawaii to Oz for cheaper??

if only someone knew a pro surfer that they could ask about how to get it done.

Haha :) I already thought of that and asked on the weekend.

there seem to be a heap of companies that do it within the U.S. no one seems to go international.

    well, i'm out.

i hope the shipping problem gets sorted, and for not to much $$$.

I'm going to contact UPS and explain it's a charity item and ask if they'd be willing to donate part of the shipping charges to the charities. I doubt they will, but it can't hurt to ask.

You could try, but seeing as Defend Oahu Coalition isn't a registered charity, and the other one is just a bank account in Honolulu, I'd seriously doubt they would.

I'm gonna send MR an email tonight because I didn't manage to see him last week because work called me back for a double shift and I've had buckleys chance of getting in there this week. I'll ask him if he's got any recommendations for shipping the board over here :)

 That'd be great, thanks , Rob!

I just assumed when we talked about it on the weekend, that you didn't think it would be any good asking him, so left it at that.

Katye is getting a final quote for me from UPS.....she just had to wait til it was all packaged.

E-mail sent!! Doesn't hurt asking I suppose, especially if it lowers the ridiculous shipping cost
He's pretty diligent in replying so I should (hopefully) hear back from him tomorrow. I'm working 6-3 so I'll let you know when I get home :)

  • Im quite disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm for the big fiddynine-K

Whats wrong with you people? We have only been playing this game for 59,000 posts! ANd dont forget the first thread! Geez, sometimes I wonder where everyones priorities are.....

Anywho, I forgot to tell you all last week.
Tea Party are in town, and came to the HRC a few weeks ago, hung out with the staff, jammed with a few of them (played about 6 songs) and drank as much free piss as they could. They have been back in again since then.
Then tonight they rock up, I havent been there yet on a night when they have showed. Im not a real Tea Party Fan anyways, not to take anything away from them. But it felt like they just rocked up to drink booze for free. The restaurant and Bar were both closed, was just staff left, fark me.
So i ignored them and the staff looking at me with daggers cos I wouldnt piss away my liqour costs on them, and they eventually left, with the staff!
I enjoy having Celebs and Muso's in.... but when they are coming back for the third time, it just felt like they wanted free piss, and they thought another manager was on hence why they came in.
SO i think they are coming back tomorrow night again, on my shift again.

    TWEET TWEET!

FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would have just been the singer of The Tea Party, Jeff Martin with his new drummer/percussionist Wayne Sheehey cause The Tea Party broke up in 2005. You will be in luck tonight Trudie, I doubt very much they will be back in again tonight as Jeff is playing a show at the Byron Blues Fest this evening at 5 'clock, and then they are heading back to Fremantle for a final show on Easter Sunday, i was so pissed off when he announced it at his show on the weekend. :(
    The won't be in tonight

Lucky you! I've wanting to go to East Coast Blues and Roots for years now.

Nah.. not going away.. hardly ever do for Easter because of the traffic out of Sydney, plus it usually rains.

Don't like it much actually .. it's a bit too Springsteenish for me.

    Gone is beautiful. :p
