It's just a matter of keeping noise levels to a minimum when we get home at night, and not having 20 people crash out in the apartment.
I had to reply to the email confirming that we WEREN'T there for schoolies

Yep. Keeping the level down with the PJ dvd's
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.
  • i just put this in the west australian for her family;

    Ramsey Chris,
Now the man of the hour
    is taking his final bow
    As the curtain comes down
I feel this is just good bye for now
Maggie, Kathryn, Carrol, Ellen, James, and Michael. Thinking of you.
    Love Joel and Megan.

Kat is the one who turned us both on to pearl jam. her family are all big fans.

I hated that song as much as I hate banks, telco's and that annoying scrubber from Big Brother. Oh and also do you know what I mean like like like!
    LMFAO!!!!!!
I wasn't saying the word 'like' in the annoying context!!

I change it to "LMAO! I was picturing something more "manginery" ALONG THE LINES OF Wind Beneath My Wings"

    Better? :D

  • so my best friend's dad died last night. another victim of cancer at a way too young age.
what do i say to her? ordinarily i wouldnt say anything and i would just hug... but she's back in perth. i just dont know how to consol her over the telephone. i wish i could be at the funeral with her tomorrow.
    its not fair.
Oh sweet :( that's aweful. There really isn't anything anyone can say. All you can do is be an ear for your friend whenever she needs one.

Fuck cancer is such a cruel, evil disease. I've lost so many loved one's to it. Glenn's Dad was diagnosed with Leukemia about 18 months ago now....he's doing well but everytime he even gets a sniffle, I turn into a stressed out mess.
I'm so sorry for you, being so far from your friend at this time....such a helpless feeling. ((Big bear hugs)) for you.

I didn't get that e-mail? Can't remember - did we have to put birth dates on the booking? Must have.

Ha!! I didnt even see that actually - just venting in general.

My brother and I had a good laugh about it on the weekend. Imagine if everyone replaced the word 'like' with the word 'similar'.

"And I was similar huh do you know what I mean similar"
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

    Cancer's a shit disease.
I think that a phone call is the only way to go. Just tell her that you're thinking about her, and if she needs to talk to someone, that you'll be there for her.
You could also send her some flowers
Make a donation to a cancer research fund :)

I always do cos both my Nan and Uncle died from cancer

It's awful....I don't think there's anyone who hasn't been affected by it in some way :(
We lost my Gran to it last December and we actually put a request on her funeral notice for people to either make a donation to cancer research or to the hospital where Gran spent her last weeks, rather than buy flowers.

what sucks even more is that he's another ALCOA victim.

i swear they need to fly Erin Brokovich in there.... he's only the billionth ALCOA employee to suffer cancer - theres been far too many for it to be just a coincidence.

im sorry to hear about your father in law. i hope he is one of the strong/lucky ones.

I heard the other day that E.B is now helping all of the Yarloop residents with their case.
Which ALCOA did he work at? Glenn works at the Wagerup one....he's worked at ALCOA for over 12 years :(

he was a go between for Kwinana and Pinjarrah. he worked there for something like 20 years. He was a firerie as well. Glenn might have known him.

    whats happened in Yarloop?

Yeah Glenn prolly would know him.....knows nearly everyone at all the refineries.
Yarloop- That's been going on for years now.....to do with residents and respiratory diseases and blaming ALCOA Wagerup.....it's a really tough one ...I saw a huge documentory on it a while back (and it's on the news and papers all the time) and it was totally non-biased. Before watching it I was all for the Yarloopians, but after watching it....I have no idea??? It is definitely suss though....but being farming land, there was a lot of evidence for other factors as well?? Hopefully Erin will continue to help them and get it sorted - it's gone on far too long.
