    I feel I'm getting there. I occasionally feel a bit sad, but it's not too bad now. Looking back on it I can see that we probably weren't meant for each other anyway.
    In the end you can just put it down as an educational experience, and hopefully use the knowledge gained from that previous relationship to make a success of the relationship(s) that i'll (hopefully) have in the future.

    I live by my life motto - EVERYTHING happens for a reason....quite often we don't understand it at the time, but as we grow we realize it's true. You were with her for a reason and no longer with her for a reason.....it all reveals itself in time :)
    Also....you HAVE to try to find a positive out of EVERY situation, however big or small it is :D

    It's given me a chance to step back and analyse not just the relationship, but also myself. In the end, I think in terms of the relationship, we were just 'going through the motions' so to speak. There's no doubt that we loved each other, and a part of me always will, but we were stuck in a rut.

    At the moment, I don't know where I am. My mates tell me to go out have fun with as many women as possible, but i've never been that kind of guy, and I don't think I ever want to be like that. Sure there's been a couple of women since I broke up with my ex, but as soon as I leave the pub or club I go home by myself. It's not like I haven't had the chance to get any further than that, it's just not the way I like to go about it.
    On the other hand, there is no way in hell i'm ready for another relationship. It's too early for me and it wouldn't be fair on the other person.
    I'm sort of at a crossroads

    A bit like bBetterman...not in the way that your there because you can't find someone better, but because it's easier to stay than go.
    I'll say it again....you're VERY wise. And as silly as it sounds, seeing as though I don't really know you...I think you're a great guy and you'll find that 'perfect lady for you' when you're ready. :)

    You've hit the nail on the head with the Betterman comparison. It's just extremely frustrating to think that instead of settling down and making a life with that one person, you're now back to square one.
    It just makes me wonder sometimes if the 'one' has passed me by while I was with someone else. I guess it's not very healthy to think like that, but you can't help wondering.

    No...."the one", hasn't passed by....like I said, everything happens for a reason and happens when it happens for a reason.....so therefore "the one" in definition is who you're meant to be with, so it'll happen :) don't know if that made any sense, coz I confused myself LOL!
    I could keep going, but I'm starting to dribble on a bit here and I can see Vital eating us alive tomorrow :eek:...but I'm sure you know what I'm saying :)
